Skyline 2.5 GTSdauncey 05-05-2001, 10:24 AM Anyone out there know anything about the Skyline 2.5 GTS and if it can be modified too? There's loads of them for sale in the uk and they're really cheap so I can buy one now...or...wait another year and get an R34. enzo@af 05-05-2001, 02:45 PM I don't know much about Skylines, sorry. But hey, welcome to the board. We have a lot of Nissan fans, and a lot of Skyline fans, so I think you'll fit right in. :) GTO-TT/Chev57 05-05-2001, 03:12 PM The 2.5 are a good motor hard to kill, the best thing to do without spending big bucks is a K&N air filter and a big bore exhaust. When you get one get the cambelt done don't trust the speedo if it was imported from Japan. sliknoggin 06-03-2001, 09:02 PM GTO's right they are hard to kill and very fun to toy with. If you have the cash, and the patience, wait for the R34. If not, make sure that the timing/Cam belt has been replaced before you buy. Along with the exhaust and Air filter, one should also invest in a Turbo Timer. After hard runs on the road or anytime the engine heats up quickly, this will save you from cooking your turbine. GTO-TT/Chev57 06-04-2001, 01:21 AM Hi and welcome to the board, It's good to see someone from Japan to fill us in on all the car news. New Zealand must have just about all your cars that are over five years old, and you should see all the parts and tyres we bring in from Japan. Do they still make the Mitsubishi GTO. I heard they stoped in 1999. sliknoggin 06-04-2001, 05:58 PM Sorry I don't know if they are still making the GTO. It would make sense if they weren't though. It isn't nearly as popular here in Japan as the EVO series. Its a huge car by Japanese standards (parking is a pain in the ass no matter what the size of your car), and heavy to boot. I think Mistu is moving towards a lighter/faster/better quality car.:sun: A quick and cheap tip if you're going to do a cheap mod on a RB20/25DET: replace the cams with ones from a Non-turbine engine. A buddy of mine did this and now he gets MASSIVE amounts of torque off the line. Its cheap and you can prob find the cams no problem from a junkyard. GODZILLA 06-05-2001, 10:53 AM best thing i can recomend is a big to4 garrett roller bearing turbo and some forged pistons, then u will notice i nice difference sliknoggin 06-05-2001, 02:03 PM I agree with 'Zilla, HOWEVER, should one decide to go that route, one must invest in a whole slew of other parts such as a Metal Headgasket and computer swap. The stock gasket won't take the pressure of that T04's boost and the factory computer won't even begin to comprehend what kind of steroids it just took. Big turbines are nice, but the rest of the engine needs to keep up with it. All of that = $$$$$. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
