NoisesGuitarDude 04-15-2004, 05:33 PM I have a 90' 4runner and it makes a clicking/ticking sound when the engine is running. I thought at first it might be an exhaust leak but someone told me I might need to have a valve adjustment. I also have noticed a lot of hesitation an slow acceleration. This happens especially when it is cold. Any ideas, thoughts, suggestions? Thanks for your help. 91 funrunner 04-15-2004, 05:59 PM ima a newbie here but i have had 3 toyota trucks 88' 89' 91' all had a bit of valve noise(ticking sound) its a pretty common thing on older toyotas how many miles? GuitarDude 04-15-2004, 08:35 PM ima a newbie here but i have had 3 toyota trucks 88' 89' 91' all had a bit of valve noise(ticking sound) its a pretty common thing on older toyotas how many miles? It has 120,000 miles but the engine was rebuilt at around 95,000. I thought it might just be something older toyota's do but the hesitation and lack of power made me think that it might have something to do with it. 91 funrunner 04-15-2004, 08:56 PM have you done all the usual things sparkplugs, airfilter, fuelfilter, cap&rotor alot of times when a motor is rebuilt old parts are put back its worth checking also i think a vacuum leak would cause hesitation(not sure tho ;) GuitarDude 04-16-2004, 01:15 PM Thanks for all your help, I have a few ideas now that I'm gonna try. 91 funrunner 04-16-2004, 02:51 PM i hope it helps vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
