ac and brake fuse blow-outjeffrey-cui 04-14-2004, 09:05 PM My stop-light fuses blow out very often, I checked lamp failure box, light bulbs, they all look fine, it seems that some unstable connection is causing the problem, Could it be the grounding? and if so, why it locates? Recently the ac fuses start to blow out, too. How can I fix it. Many thanks. Joe W 04-15-2004, 09:16 PM Off hand it would appear to be two different problems unless it was wiring under the dash. The brake lights in most cases can be traced to a bad wire at the trunk hinge area.If you can be a little more specific it may help in diagnosis. jeffrey-cui 04-16-2004, 01:19 AM thank you. For the brake light, it used to work a few days after I change a new fuse. The trunk is actually leaking water, so I suspect that moisure is the criminal. I tried to seal the light bulb socket in the trunk, however, fuse still got blown. For ac fuse, it never happened before. Recently I have the ac system cleaned and filled with new type of fleon, then it started to blow fuse. Typically, it works after a change of new fuse, however, it would blow fuses just after a few start: when One get into the car, the belt will on (means fuse is good), then the fuse blew when I turned on engine (as no ac). I don't know how to locate the short. many thanks Joe W 04-17-2004, 06:43 PM For the brake light wiggle the wires while someone checks the lights-both at the lights and at the trunk hinge. For the A/C would recommend taking it back to whoever did the conversion. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
