wheel rotational mass vs. powerstrodda 04-11-2004, 05:34 PM whats the difference in power loss when comparing wheel weight. i weighed my wheels today and here were the results: 14" steelie w/ 195/60 falken azenis--35lbs 17" sokudo w/ 215/45 kumho ecsta--40lbs given that i swap the front pair, thats a 10lb difference. me knowing that, i cant rely on my feeling to tell if it makes a noticable difference... cause knowing the difference will make my mind think one is better. im not worried about cornering, just straight acceleration. how much of a difference will 10lbs make??? CivicSiRacer 04-11-2004, 06:33 PM I forget what month it was featured in SPort Compact Car, but they said for every 1lb wheel weight it's like 8-10lb static body weight. So the difference of your 4 wheels/tires is 5lbs*4=20lbs*8-10lbs static body weight and that comes out to 160-200lbs. Which is alot. strodda 04-11-2004, 11:15 PM is there a "like" when comparing added rotational mass and whp loss. i know im not really losing any, but what would the felt hp loss be? kinda sucks, now that i got new wheels i like them, and i dont want to put stocks on any more... but at the same time, theyre damn heavy. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
