False Alarms Accord Security System

Frequently in the past week or so the alarm has activated on my 2000 Accord. There is no apparent reason and it has never happened before. It goes for a day or two without happening then alarms twice in an hour.
Is there something I should check? Failing a fix I would like to disable the system permanently. I have checked the manual and the fuse boxes and can find no reference as to which fuse it might be.

Thanks,

an obvious fuse to pull to deactivate an alarm would be absolutely idiotic thing for a manufacturer to do ... especially on the most stolen car in america. It might be a bad sensor, like a door or hood switch or something

I 2nd the door or pin switch. Those fail at a high rate.

I would like to disable the system permanently. The dealer tells me we can't disconnect the alarm system without disabling the whole car. Does anyone know of any way that I can accomplish this?

Thx,

Like I said ... not likely honda would be that dumb. But even if I knew, I wouldn't tell someone I didn't know how to steal my car

Is this not a free country? This security system was not an option when I purchased the car new. It is not a safety feature and impacts no one other than me the owner. I wish not to deal with it....Honda admits there have been problems with the control modules for this system and I do not wish to be impacted by their problems with a system I don't need or want.

Well, you can permenately disarm the alarm by this method on most cars. What you need to do is make the disarm wire constantly on disarm mode. So, on your car, you need to send a (-) pulse to the blue disarm wire to get the alarm to shut off. This wire on the EX the wire is located at the drivers power window switch, on the LX the wire is at the keyless/security unit which is attached to the drivers underdash panel. Once you find that, attach a wire to it and then ground it to the car. Then it will never arm!!!

Finally had a little time today to spend on this problem. Figured out that if I made the trunk switch to indicate the trunk is open the alarm will not arm. There are no lights on the dash (i.e.trunk open warning) and all systems are go. At least I can lock the car now. My question is: How is it a stupid plumber from Canerda can figure this out and my local Honda dealer (Classic Honda in Brampton) either couldn't or wouldn't let me know?
