Cooling Problemsdonnyc 04-11-2004, 03:05 PM I can't figure out why my camry is overheating when a/c turned off and temperature is normal when a/c is running. Need to figure out ASAP. Any immediate assistance would be greatly appreciated. Brian R. 04-11-2004, 03:23 PM Possibly, your primary cooling fan is not working and the secondary fan cools the radiator when you turn on the A/C. Secondary fan is normally off. Once your engine is at normal operating temp, the primary fan should come on and off periodically. If it never comes on, you probably have a bad fan motor or a bad fan thermostat. When the engine is cold, open the radiator cap and make sure your coolant level is up to the top. donnyc 04-11-2004, 03:50 PM Possibly, your primary cooling fan is not working and the secondary fan cools the radiator when you turn on the A/C. That is the question. One fan must come on with the A/C off and the engine hot. johnmd19 04-12-2004, 12:02 AM my camry had that problem it was fan relay no 1 went bad.
