Can you remove resonator from HKS Super dragger?Ethan_R33 01-10-2002, 06:25 PM Hi guys, i have the HKS super dragger exhaust on my gts-t, and it is really quiet. I have been told the the super draggers have resonators on them to keep the sound down. Is it possible to remove this so it sounds louder??? vspecv 01-11-2002, 01:54 AM no,unless u cut it open. from memory isnt there a small muffler at the frt,if so just remove that Ethan_R33 01-11-2002, 01:56 AM yep dean, youre right. If i removed that, could i just replace it with the same size pipe? swampy 01-11-2002, 03:19 AM Yeah man, just replace it with a bit of pipe RazorGTR 01-11-2002, 09:55 PM Hummm i have the same thing with my Super Power Extreme II trust system on the GTR. I was wondering the same thing. SPDRCR 01-13-2002, 07:55 PM I had exactly this done to my super dragger. It now sounds a fair bit louder and really rips up top. Definitely commend it. When I had the resonator taken out - it was smaller than the rest of the pipe, so it was probably causing a restriction aswell. you won't regret doing it Ethan_R33 01-14-2002, 05:25 AM SPDRCR: which part is the resonator in? I have the front pipe which comes down then halfway down the car there is this cylindrical thing which i think is it, then it comes to a rectangular shaped muffler, then right at the end goes to a really big cylindrical muffler i think. Is the first one the resonator??? vspecv 01-14-2002, 06:31 AM andrew, the cylindrical thingy as u call it is the catalytic convertor.dont bother removing that as i fitted a hiflow cat to your car.the next one is the one you want to remove.its the second one in line. Ethan_R33 01-15-2002, 05:11 AM thanks dean, i might take it to the local exhaust workshop and see if they can remove it, and just fit the same size piping. vspecv 01-15-2002, 05:59 AM yep, thays all u need to do dannyvd 04-02-2003, 11:36 PM remember its illegal to take your cat off vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
