i have the dx so my car never came with the tach. i was thinkin about getting a swap so i would definitely need a tach. SHould i get an autometer tachometer or should i try to find a tach that would replace my gauge cluster? the new cluster would look better but does an integra or other model cluster fit into my civic?

Your easest option is go take one from the EX or SI ...

ya if you wanted you could trow in a prelude cluster or a Intergra cluster there bolt plug and play set up but he only thing is that you ahve to swap out your whole dash to make it work and in some cases that means getting rid of your heater core or other accesories anuthings posible
i think the best cluster swap is one from a teg GSr they look tigh but with that one you get no heat no cool controll

Just get an autometer tach and mount it on your dash, it would be a lot easier. :)

would the 99-00 civic si cluster plug right in or would i have to modify the dash? i want a cluster that will fit in like it is stock but has a tach so am i limited to the 92-95 cluster?

Why dont you just read the auction?

"...This cluster will fit in all models (HX, CX, LX, DX, EX, Si) of the civic from 1996 to 2000; also, I have even seen them custom fit into 92-95 civic and Integra"

ok I have a DX and I just added a Autometer sport comp Silver face Tach. I liek it and the look. if you didn't want the big bulky autometer then you could opt for a smaller tach from like Sun Pro or R1...

If the stock look s what you want then the EX/Si cluster wouldbe the best bet.

Hope this might help a little.....:frog:

Just go buy a autometer tach because then when you hook it up, everything is accurate unlike the stock tach and you will be able to read it better.:D
