I just got this in the mail Thursday, should be a cool project, a little unique...
Its a 1973 C130 Laurel 2000SGX by Aoshima. I am using Fujimi Hayashi Racing 15" wheels at this stage. I'm building it mostly stock, I've cut some coils off all the springs to lower it (it has real coils for all four wheels - well the rears share one - which is cool!). I must say its a cool kit, comes with two sets of wheels (stock and 4 spoke 3 piece alloys), a momo steering wheel option, and an optional drivers race seat!
I'm not sure on what color yet, maybe a metallic mustard , or pearl black. I'm trying to get a nice stance with the ride height, I want it low but not looking stupidly low...

it comes with fender mirrors - you can bet they're going on there :D :D
I'm also using the race seat and the momo wheel. The muffler on it will be a combo of parts from the fujimi muffler tune set - the two long mufflers that are attached by a little strut, well I cut one off, and added the tip from the big barrel one, to make a "NA-Cannon". I'm having fun with this one! I'm sorry the preliminary pics are a little blurry, I'm still getting used to the macro mode on my camera.
BTW, this is the box art, in mustard (I like to call it "Japanese racing poo-brown" )...

Update:
Goddamnit!!! Well the plastic trim primer ate into and pitted the hell out of the body. So the body is stuffed. I've ordered another body from HLJ , the kit is in stock with them so hopefully parts should be easy to obtain.
But I'm not very happy as you can imagine!! Primered it yesterday, come back this morning and it was stuffed. I did another kit with the same stuff , another aoshima kit (!), with no problem, but this one reacted. I am having severe consistency problems with the brand of paint I used, so from now on I'm using Tamiya primer on everything, no more auto primer.

So project is stalled for a while!! At least it will give me some time to get the interior detail down.

I want to get another one of these kits one day and put the chassis and engine bay from a fujimi 240Z in it, the body and interior are very nicely made.

Oh I did choose the final color, btw, it will be satellite brown metallic which looks like coca-cola in the sunlight..

Well, been a long time since I posted in this thread, haha....
Unfortunately, body number 2 also had a severe paint reaction, and I later found out the formulas had changed in the duplicolor spin-off branded paint I was using.

However.... I have filled and sanded the roof of number 2, its pretty well smooth. I'm sorting some other wrinkling/pitting issues , and I'm about to restart this project.

I'm a little unsure what wheels I will use, but more and more likely is the RS-watanabe rims from the Jenesis DR30 or Fujimi AE86 kit.
I think it will be black or something similarly dark, as it still has a considerable amount of brown paint which will be covered in tamiya grey primer but probably bleed into a lighter color. I haven't fully stripped the body as I am unsure of the effect it will have on the putty filling the roof and other sections.

I'm inspired to make it look somewhat like this:

The RS-watanabes I have, and I can pull the front lip spoiler from a Revell Tuner 510 a thoughtless and drunk girl squashed at a house party I had...

Alternately, something like this, if Aoshima release the nostalgia wheels/stretch wall tyres separately:

I'll actually have a set of the techno racing rims soon (fujimi though), in my tohge SA22C kit...

Ok, beginning to make some progress now - on the bodywork.

I'm pretty much satisfied with the repairs, which were extensive, the entire roof, sections of the rear pillars and quarter panels, and a number of other small areas of the body which were badly damaged were all putty filled and sanded back to their original profile. The front lip/spoiler is from the Revell 510, with an extension cut from a spare wing in the Fujimi Tohge FC kit.

Wheels are Fujimi RS-watanabes from the AE86 Tohge kit, with Semi-slick ADVAN tyres on the front from the Tohge HR31 GTS-R kit (which, strangely are lettered as 14" on the sidewall) that look similar to the ones in the pic of the red car and are slightly lower profile/better sidewall shape than the Normal Pirelli Cinturato's.

I still have to putty up the "vents" on the sides of the front lip, and add some putty behind it to reinforce, then it will get primered.
Tamiya Ferrari Red over Tamiya Gloss Black with a few coats of clear is the colour scheme planned. With any luck if the weather holds out the body will be mostly done by the end of next week.

I still have a lot of chassis and interior work to do. The interior will be stock but I have to fabricate a half rollcage for it.
I managed to drop and break a front "suspension" upright so that needs to be repaired (no biggy). I'll also add some fujimi Brembo calipers/rotors to the struts (from the 300CE inch up kit).
The hardest thing to do will be fabricating rear suspension to allow me to give it some negative camber on the rear wheels, I suspect this will hold completion up for a while.
Oh and I'm planning on making an exhaust system to suit the Fujimi turned aluminium "Wagon Muffler".
