front strut barshaun1982 04-09-2004, 03:01 AM hey i am wondering, is it easy to make and fit a front strut bar on my 5thg civic sedan and does it really make a difference when driving normally (not on the track) and does any one have and instructions with pics or any sites on how to make one. thanks GScivic7 04-09-2004, 05:00 AM Front strut bar install is easy as cake. You just bolt it on. It will make a bit of a difference sine it will stiffen up the front end a bit, but I'm not sure you'll like it a whole lot. Stiffening up the front creates more understeer. Something a FWD car doesn't need anymore of. I think you'd be happier with stiffening up the rear, that's if you're into any type of hardcore driving...autox, roadracing etc. Ricochet 04-09-2004, 01:55 PM I love having a strut bar up front, I didn't notice TOO much understeer.. seemed like it handled even better though :dunno:. But GScivic7 is right, the rear ones are great for bringing the ass around. shaun1982 04-10-2004, 09:40 AM do u guys know where si the rear strutt on the boot of a sedan 5th gen civic. and also any links on making one. and what type of metal. so i have to get just sum type of metal bar which is strong enough or what GScivic7 04-10-2004, 03:56 PM You have to strip your trunk to get to it. Just take out all the carpet and you should be able to find it. As for making one, I don't have a clue. jcrx 04-11-2004, 06:35 AM Strut bars don't do shit for understeer and over steer. Sway bars are what provide or decrease both. running a rear sway bar alone will help bring the ass end around (oversteer), if you run a matched set front and rear you should have a nice neutral feel, and a front one by itself, you'll have a hell of a time taking turns (understeer). integrasedan 04-11-2004, 01:53 PM i read some where a guy went to Home Depot and got aluminum bar and made a front strut bar with it. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
