Mustang Potential

I'm looking to part out a car and get a mustang '99 and up model but I've also noticed that a Mustang has become like a domestic Civic a lot of people rice them out and they're quite common. I'd like to work on the engine and maybe get the Rousch Stage 3 kit on. What kind of power can I expect out of a supercharger on a say GT version and exhaust and fairly basic stuff. Also what else is a good mod for a mustang? Thanks for the information.

i really dont' feel the need to answer this question in detail.... there are a million threads on this forum alone explaining all of the things you need to know, just gotta look for 'em.
good luck tho.
and by the way, most people don't rice out mustangs, they turn them into powerful drag cars.

You have to understand that at my high school there is maybe 4 mustangs and they all have stickers and changed the steering wheels and seats and start trying to race everyone. Now I'm well aware that many are made into drag cars and that's why I'm interested in getting one. Also as for searching I did and I got some information hence my desire for the rousch package but I just wanted an opinion on what would be the best options for my situation.

The Roush Stage 3 kit is badass but it costs alot :(
TYpical centrifugal superchargers (Paxton, Procharger, & Vortech) on a Mustang 2v put down around 340-380 rwhp on 8-10 psi. 380 is a little on the highside but can be attained with intake/exhaust mods but Im sure 350rwhp is attainable. Roots supercharger (Saleen, Allen, Eaton) usually make less hp than the centrifugal. Typical numbers are 290-320rwhp on a stock car. Even though the numbers seem low the car would definitely not be a slug. The reason for this is because Roots supercharger make full boost at lower RPMs as contrast to the centri which builds boost as the engine winds up. Now the big daddy of supercharges is the Twin Screw (Autorotor, Whipple, Kenne Bell) These type of superchargers make full boost at around 1800-2200 rpms and holds it to redline. A Kenne Bell set at 9psi typically puts down 390rwhp. Thats on stock engine! If youre looking for a badass street car Id go with the twin screw supercharger! They may cost more but its definitely worth it. Just be ware that the stock engine isnt set up to handle over 400hp and not break. If youre planning to run over 400rwhp Id invest in some forged internals(rods, pistons, crank) With that you can crank up the boost.
DONT FORGET TO GET THE CAR TUNED!
Heres the bolt-ons Id do on a 99+ Stang:
Accufab 75mm TB
Accufab/CnL Plenum
or if you want to spend a pretty penny you can either get the Fox Lake intake or Bullitt.
KnN or UPR Big Mouth Filter
Pro-M MAF (you can do without this)
Long Tube headers (shorties dont gain much on the 2vs N/A. You can do without this if you dont want to go through the hassle of installing them)
X-pipe (Dr. Gas is one of the best flowing mids out there. Myself, I prefer the Mac Prochamber H because of the sound)
Those are your basic bolt ons. If you want to build your Mustang N/A then I would go with PnP heads and some badass cams from SHM, Comp Cams, or VT Engines. Hell, Id recommend them if you were going with a power adder! If you plan on staying N/A, Im sure youll have no problem making 300+ rwhp with a good tune.
Now all this power means shit unless you can put it to the ground. If you plan on drag racing the car then youd have to beef up the suspension...
LCA/UCA(Control arms)
Subframe Connectors
Drag springs. Youd want softer springs up front and harder outback.
70/30 or 90/10 struts. If you want to pay more you can get the Adjustable Drag struts made.
50/50 Shocks. I hear the stock shocks are 50/50 so you can save your money unless you want to spend the cash.
Weld the torque box and axle tubes.
You can also remove the front sway bar to allow the front end remove some weight up front and to let the nose lift a little
Now with that... the most import thing youll need is GEARS!!!!
Simple rule for the modular engines...
If youre planning to stay N/A then no less than 4.10s! 4.10s will really wake up the car. If you really want to put a bigger grin on your face get 4.30s! You wont regret them!
If youre going forced inducted then no less than 3.73s! On roots/twin screw some may not want to go with anything more than 3.55s but considering that stock the 2vs come with 3.27s it would seem a waste to spend the money on buying and installing 3.55s.
With installation of gears Id really recommend installing 31/33 spline axles(Strange, Moser) and 31/33 spline differential (Eaton, Trac-Loc) The reason I recommend this is because youll more than likely break the rear end when using sticky tires (drag radials, et streets, slicks) and considering you want a supercharger, its going to be hard getting traction on street tires.
Well hope that helped.

do not ever compare a mustang to civic, it just cant happen. mustangs are too good. as for the 'kids' who try to degrade their stangs, tell em to stop. whats the point in getting all this attention from stickers and what not? it doesnt make u any faster. so they are like the ricers in the mustang world. we gota get rid o them.

Hmmm, you get the vid file with a complete URL on it. So its like this:
www.somewebsite.org/mustangs/movies/anyfile.mpg
so you hav to find the folder and then the name of the movie in it.

sounds like it. in this one its a black guy who owns this mustang with a GTR badge on the back of it and big japanese performance stickers and he claims its coz its a "limited edition mustang GTR :p" and that it has a turbo but when they ask him what kinda intercooler he's running he's like "uuuummmm, it came with the car" :p he's got no idea... its one of the funniest vids i've seen so far :p
