Hey i need some help with my new truck....

I just bought it, 97 regular cab 4 cyl manual. The rims are Center Line 16"X??? 7",8"? When I turn the wheel all the way to the right or left, the inside lip of the rims scrape against the frame.

Does anyone know how to fix this?? Probably restricting the steering radius somehow?

It's not too bad and i wouldn't have cared, but the problem is that my dad wants the rims off if i can't fix it and i love the rims.

It is possible you could find some spacers to move the wheels out slightly. This may or may not help, since you may still hit before the steering stops are hit. I am assuming from your post that you have the tires on the rims and they are not hitting the frame. Odd, you would think the tires would hit first. If you put spacers on, you should make sure they are suitable for your truck, because they create some leverage on the suspension - not much, but some. I would suggest you refrain from any performance cornering if you do put the spacers on.

yeah, somone else said something about spacers too... and i think that would work. The only thing is the rims would be wider than the wells. I'm definatly gonna look into that though.

My friend has an s-10 and he said that on the older models you could restric the radius but now the newer s-10's part is welded on. Dunno if anyone knows what he's talking about....

thanks for the help!

you can only fit 16x6.5,17x7, or 18x8... for the turning radius not to scrap
