I think the two greatest cars of all time are the Supra and the GTR. The Supra is a peice of art with its powerful twin turbo engine and a shitload of high end torque. I have seen every car imaginable get slaughtered by the Supra (and bikes, way to go walser supra) on the highway. But i am a patriotic person and like supras to be beaten sometimes by ur occaional cobra but still is there a car that can take on a supra on the highway? If u can find one tell me.

And im not forgetting the GTR. jesus this car is a monster on the track!! i have seen a stock GTR keep up with an F50 on the track. and also if u can find a better car than a GTR (handling wise) then tell me cause i may love this car but i think its time for it to be dethroned.

Definately!!!!!!!! I've still seen videos of those twin turbo vetts getting eatn alive by supras though (and vice versa). As for anything with turns, the RX7 and just about any good sports car can keep up with it.

As for the GTR, there is a reason why it has been banned from certain motorsports. In 1989 when the R32 came out, it was entered in the Australian V8 Supercar series. It beat the track record (dont know wich track) on the first race by 5 or 6 seconds (which was soon banned from the series), which was broken finally about a year ago. After 14 years!!! Its a hell of a racecar.

But as far as street cars go, it really depends on who spends the most money.

You sure it was an F50? or are you talking about the Best Motring video where the R34 GTR raped the 360 Modena. As good as the GTR (stock) is, there is no way it will take F50 anywhere.

well there's not too many street legal supra's runnin around running 9.2 in the 1320. as like the lingenfelter, some are 800hp and some are 1000hp. i'm sure you all have seen the vid of the mclaren destroying the 800hp supra? but like gdk is saying it depends on how much you do to a car. i'm gonna say the corvette is the greatest(overall) car ever made, may i say sledgehammer :evillol:

i think ur right, supras for drag, n gtr's for the track, also you should know that in japan the most you can post for horsepower is 280, i'll just guess that the supra is 320, since the USDM one is 320hp, and also the r34 gtr is about 340awhp, since it runs the same or better than the supra on the 1/4 (the torque distribution system transfers the power 10%front 90%back on straightaways, as soon as the tires have traction, and transfers power accordingly when turning to reduce tire slip, and supposedly reduce over/understeer) i would also add the RX7 Spirit, and the NSX type R, if u watch the best motoring supercar drag races, you can see that the type R beats a r34 gtr on a straightaway, which means it has over its rated 280hp (im guessing around 320-340) as for the rx7 i really dont know, i haven't really looked into that car, but i have videos of 2 rx7's that ran mid 7's, so im guessing that that rotary engine can handle power

Your right, there arent very many Supras running 9.2s, but was I ever talking about dragracing? No. This thread was about highway runs. That Supra getting owned by the Mclaren did not have 800 horsepower. It is an old Veilside supra with 610hp (could be 610whp). About the Corvette being one of the greatest overall cars of all time, I agree. Its way better than the supra in almost everything, but G@d Damn do they pull from a roll. The sledgehammer is one of my favorite cars of all time (how could you not like a 252 mph Vette?). Have you heard of the Jun Akira Supra? Its almost as fast (249 mph) as the sledge, but is the fastest street legal supra in the world.

Quick lttle off topic question: Why does It seem like it is impossible for a street car to go over 252 mph? Even the Diablo SV twin turbo tops out at 252 mph. Is it just aerodynamics?

Off topic:

Speaking of 1/4 times by Ligenfelter, last tested Ligenfelter ran a 8.56 1/4. I think the 9.2 time was from an older version or a lesser driver.

I thought they lifted that gentlemen's agreement.
