Aftermarket car system and Honda warrantyWiNnErPL 04-08-2004, 04:04 PM Hey guys I'ma bout to buy a civic that still ahs 2-3 years left on warranty now I'm worried that if I replace the audio system they will not honor the warranty if something were to happen under the hood. Anyone had any past experience? Thanks in advance. GScivic7 04-08-2004, 04:15 PM Unless they can prove that some how whatever is wrong with it is directly caused by your replacing the system, they have to honor their warranty. Beastiek2 04-08-2004, 04:44 PM honda told me if i change an engine parts i void the warrenty body parts where ok as well as interior go and ask them at any honda dealer mycivic 04-08-2004, 05:00 PM honda told me if i change an engine parts i void the warrenty body parts where ok as well as interior go and ask them at any honda dealer There has got to be something wrong with my dealer then...They told me any part I change that is not Honda will void the warranty especially if the engine is involved. Beastiek2 04-08-2004, 05:05 PM i specifically went to him and ask cause i knoew i'd be addeding stuf and he said it ok as long as the engine is not changed..i also bought the car in some hick town surrounded by farms mycivic 04-08-2004, 05:08 PM Meh...I just gotta make sure the next time I go to honda to get my oil change...and thats soon...maybe next weekend. WiNnErPL 04-08-2004, 06:24 PM allrite so you guys suggest I can em up then. I mean it's only one wire to the battery that will be run beside the engine. I'm worriued cause I read that Ford is very against this. I read a Ford authorized technician installed a new radio and a dealer still wouldn't honor once he saw the new radio installed.
