EMAXX 04-08-2004, 02:56 PM Looks very good so far. I can't wait to see how this car will turn out. Knowing you, I'm sure you'll take your time and make it one amazing car. TireGaint 04-08-2004, 03:07 PM yo I can already hear the WROOM WROOM WROOM from your Enzo. Keeps on the good work. Howielong 04-08-2004, 03:39 PM Nice. I love black. pettercardoso 04-08-2004, 04:35 PM It's quite funny how you started with the dash, I don't think a lot of people do that. Although, I must admit I would too. It's one of my favorite parts on the real Enzo. So very simple and yet, so amazing... All the carbon work you have ahead of you is (or should be) quite a challenge. I tried CF for the first time on my Nissan R32 (currently in progress) and I must say it's not as easy as it seems to get it right! I torn apart several templates do get the hood looking satisfactory... Now a little question/suggestion: Why don't you build your Enzo as an "All Carbon" version? I'm sure it will look amazing metallic black with black wheels, but with all that CF and detail you already have, the all carbon version would be even better (in my HUMBLE opinion). I know it should take about 6 or 7 sheets of decal to achieve that, but hey...what's a "couple" bucks extra? :evillol: By the way, could you give us a hint on HOW MUCH you have spent?Damn!:biggrin: Eheheheh, you have to be crazy, and must be crazy in love with the Enzo...:iceslolan Best regards, and the best of luck, Pedro. GTmike400 04-08-2004, 05:20 PM I love the amazing detail! The project sounds awfully challenging with all the detail for a 1/24 scale model. Samurai75007 04-08-2004, 05:29 PM Nooo dont do it all carbon Im about to do that I just orderd all the stuff today... Blowncivic1320 04-08-2004, 08:03 PM Looks insane, cant wait to see some more progress NISMO400R 04-08-2004, 08:09 PM Wow!! Now that's really super detail Enzo. StephenDeli 04-08-2004, 08:37 PM This is probobly going to turn out to be one of the best Enzo's on AF (no offense to the other amazing Enzo's). I will defiatly follow this thread. slk320 04-08-2004, 10:07 PM Here are the updated pics. I started out with the dash board becuase its by far the most complecated decaling job...to make it look realistic is pretty hard so I decaled, painted the buttons, all the buttons are painted in appropriate colors and in appropriate order... keys in the ignition, key chain, bolts are photoetch items that come with the superdetail kit.. so are the keys and the keyring. also, as a side note, its important to put a lot of gloss on the interior cf parts, as they are high gloss in the real thing: http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/1_G_001.sized.jpg http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/2_G_001.sized.jpg http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/3_G_001.sized.jpg getting that decal over the vent surrounds was a royal pain http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/4_G_001.sized.jpg brakes.... these amazing mini masterpieces are a 7 piece afairs with resin calipers and photoetch brake pads...although unpainted at this time and without bolts, they still are amazing... http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/5_G_001.sized.jpg http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/6_G_001.sized.jpg the seats.. carbon fiber, deep gloss, will also be equiped with buttons for recline function and seat belt harness http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/7_G_001.sized.jpg http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/8_G_001.sized.jpg wheels, metal removable center knock offs, sakatsu valve stems http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/9_G.sized.jpg test fitting.. rear wheels: http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/9a.sized.jpg front: http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/9b.sized.jpg ol' dude 04-08-2004, 10:13 PM This is totally insane bad ass!!!!! Excellent product. So far my two favorite CF decals are SMS and SAS, both conform very well to complex surface. GTmike400 04-09-2004, 11:56 AM Holy shit! The detail is amazing!!! I cant believe this is a 1/24 scale model any longer. It reminds me of the 1/8 Scale Ferrari F40 Build going on. Beautiful work so far! I got the photo cd from scale motorsports and its super super detailed, areas that I have never found photos on, over 250 photos of chasis, motor and interior. Thank you SMS! Here is the door panels... let me just say what pain it is to decal it straight with its amount of complez angles and concave surfaces.... i shot a couple of gloss coats over it to make it look like real cf.. http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/1_G_002.sized.jpg Made seats.. carbon fiver back, sides, intalled the side mounted lumbar supprt buttons, harness and entched details... http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/2_G_002.sized.jpg http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/3_G_002.sized.jpg completed dash board, sorry for the fuzzy pics: http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/4_G_002.sized.jpg what do you think so far? the decal work is worse then my DTM CLK... 675datsun 04-13-2004, 01:58 AM Simply marvelous! Keep up the good work! ales 04-15-2004, 12:23 AM SLK320, those aren't ignition wires in the picture of the real car, those are wires coming to fuel injectors. Consult your references, a picture from a different angle will show you where they go more clearly. What you did is you wired 7 nuts holding the cam cover in place. slk320 04-15-2004, 12:47 AM The lug nuts are still there, I checked the refferences, I will post more pics..I agree the the location of the wires is a little off... but that the best I could do, once everything is secured together the differences will not be noticeable. I know that ENZO has elctronic ignition so the two leading wires out of the end of the cam cover are the ignition wires. my goal, I guess is to make a realistic looking replica, so the specific wire location, especially ones that will be ultimately mostly covered are not as important.. I guess. But I apreciate your comments, they are very helpfull, as is anyone who knows the real car! keep em coming please! slk320 04-15-2004, 12:51 AM More porgress on the top air box and intake runners... http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/1_G_004.sized.jpg http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/2_G_004.sized.jpg photoetch emblem, metal cap, cf decals, proper wiring... http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/3_G_004.sized.jpg http://www.joeyandmona.com/albums/album136/4_G_004.sized.jpg more info please, I really DO APPRECIATE all the comments!!! even critiques! robrex 04-15-2004, 01:46 AM Ooohhh!!! Freakin awesome mate. Is the thin rail round the airbox the original kit part or did you make your own? Its just I don't know how you could get the carbon on without removing that bit. Oh and what colour did you use for the engine block? Also are you gonna put the scrunchy reflective foil around the exhaust? Good luck and keep it coming. Cheers Farrokh Junhao 04-15-2004, 07:29 AM Damn. Seeing all those details of your build makes me want to throw my Enzo into the trashcan and it'll never see the light of the world again! GTmike400 04-15-2004, 08:22 AM Beautiful work on the engine! labandabonnot 04-15-2004, 09:00 AM A critique: what a shame, such a beautifull job for such an ugly car! No, no! I'm joking!!!!!!!! But I'm still thinking all these skills (kit, transkit, modeler....) would be much better applied on something like an Aston Martin Vanquish, for example!... CF decals look real good, it's the first time I see so convincing 1/24 CF decals!... and well applied, of course! The wiring job completely astonishes me! ... I'll keep searching for a bad comment... See you tomorrow!... StephenDeli 04-15-2004, 10:06 AM I can no longer finish my Enzo. It looks like absolute shit compared to your beauty. Amazing job on the CF decals. I bet you'll even order the Ferrari red paint just to match...that would be sick. I thought he said he was painting it black? Also, Ferrari paint is just like any other paint, except for quality. You could probably go out to your Auto paint store and ask for some of it, I forgot who makes the Ferrari paint though, but they do sell it all over. Its not called Ferrari paint either, just like Strawberry red or something. Not trying to flame you or anything though. ol' dude 04-24-2004, 09:33 PM TO COOL!
