I think that the older rx 7 r1 has more style than the new rx 8.
rx 7 r1:thumbsup: rx 8:thumbsdow

Plus the rx 7 r1 was desined with preformance in mind, like a perfect 50/50 weight dist. cant beat that.

i agree definitely. the rx-7 is a much better car. i was so mad when i found out that the rx-8 was going to have four-doors, then i saw pics of it, and it doesnt look sleek like the rx-7 did. mazda did a bad reincarnation of the rotary engine.

just going on design, i was really disappointed with the new rx8 especially wen compared to the rx7 series 8 model...mechanics-wise, i didn't know too much about the new rx8, but after a bit of research i was a little more impressed by it's specs...

the new Renesis rotary has better airflow intake and fuel efficiency than the rx7's 13B...the lack of engine power disappointed me (round 180kw for man and 140kw for auto....why wud anyone buy and auto car anyway?!!! lol!! ), but i guess they tried to make up for lack of power in the design...alot of other little features, like, lighter body, lower centre of gravity....stuff like that wud probably make up a little for power...

overall, i've seen better cars, rx8 doesn't really get my blood pumpin

plus, i am starting to see rx-8's everywhere. so at first i would stare at one because it was the first couple i saw, but now i see about 5 a week. i see a rx-7 maybe once every six months.

yup, I was also sorely disappointed with the new RX8 and the demise of the great RX7. RX7's have always been one of my favourite cars and when i heard there was a new rx8 coming out i thought it would be faster, sleeker and better. Little did i know it would be so ugly and so much of a family car. Its a shame but thats what seems to be happening with so many awesome sports cars for some reason. there must be a huge drop in demand for sports cars coz just look at how many cars have disappeared these last 2 years such as the legendary Nissan Skyline, Chevy Camaro and Mazda RX7.

I think that the Rx-8 was the biggest car upset in history!! :banghead: What were they thinking!! but i hope the mazdaspeed version lives up to its legacy

PS I hope they turbocharge it now that might kick ass

the mazdaspeed rx-8 only has an extra 15 hp. the main difference is in the handling department. so you really dont get much more speed with the mazdaspeed.

Guess what, the RX-8 has a better weight distribution than the RX-7 does. Also, it really can sit 4 people.

Nothing wrong with the RX8, it's miles better than the RX7. There is more to life than how fast a car goes, you know.

But still, the RX-8 has a better weight distribution, there is nothing to argue about.

By the way, got a question about your signature. Can't she just jack up the car?

the rx-8 is a lot better built in terms of quality. but if you know how to take care of a rotary, the rx-7 is a quality car too. plus, the rx-7 as imo a lot better looking than the rx-8.

Actually, as numbers go, the RX-8 is superior to the 7 with the exception of looks and power. Which is what people look for in a sports car, which is why it will fail.

The looks, are opinion, it could appeal to some, but when it comes to power. Why underpower a sports car? It should have the reliability of the new Renesis, with the power potential of the 13B.

i like the look of the rx-8, i'm impressed. with speed on the other hand i'm not impressed, it should have been made a little quicker at least getting even with the rx-7 in excceleration, then i would have no problem with it
