I have a '91 Legacy with over 130,000 miles on it. The transmission has been acting up. It seems that after the car is warmed up, the transmission doesn't want to shift. You can put the pedal to the floor & it doesn't want to go. I don't belive its mechanical because it works fine until the car is warmed up. I believe its an electrical problem! Plus, I smell rubber burning too. Any ideas/thoughts anyone?

Thanks for the reply! Its an Automatic. The smell isn't real strong but its there. Not even sure if its related to transmission problem? I've not very familiar with the inter-workings of transmissions, I imagine it to be all mechanical parts but are there any internal electrical control parts that could be the problem? or are they all outside of the transaxle itself?
