Legacy (91) Transmission Trouble - help!Miaczsp 04-07-2004, 08:47 AM I have a '91 Legacy with over 130,000 miles on it. The transmission has been acting up. It seems that after the car is warmed up, the transmission doesn't want to shift. You can put the pedal to the floor & it doesn't want to go. I don't belive its mechanical because it works fine until the car is warmed up. I believe its an electrical problem! Plus, I smell rubber burning too. Any ideas/thoughts anyone? voodoochildbc 04-08-2004, 03:29 PM Is it an automatic or a manual? It sounds more like you have an automatic, and it could be an electrical problem that's coming from the ECU. But you also said it makes a smell, so that could suggest a mechanical problem. Not even sure if its related to transmission problem? I've not very familiar with the inter-workings of transmissions, I imagine it to be all mechanical parts but are there any internal electrical control parts that could be the problem? or are they all outside of the transaxle itself? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
