sorry for this broad question, but lately I have been looking for a replacement car for my V6 2000 Camaro I totalled a few months back, Ive decided to either go with an Integra GSR or a 97 and up Civic Hatch if I go the FF route. My question is basically which car would handle better after minor suspension modification, bushings, stiffer springs, etc. I have figured with the Civic I would do the B16 engine swap seeing as how its the lighter engine, and also put Disk brakes all around. I know that an integra GSR has a better suspension and break set up stock then a civic hatch and I believe the civic doesnt have ABS, but when comparing the two equally it seems the Civic hatch comes out on top any many scenarious. Im just curious if doing all these modifications is worth it, I do not need speed at all I just want to be able to get around corners quickly.

Well, you can transfer a lot of the factory GSR suspension on to the Civic while you are upgrading the suspension on it. If you end up going that route, the hatch will out handle the GSR considering it is a smaller more nimble vehicle.

You'll be happier with a gsr. They're a bit more luxurious, and stock will still beat a b16 hatch.

True a GSR is faster but I ultimately want Cornering abilities, its pointless to put force induction on any type of honda engine made for track use. but I deff appreciate the info and you taking your time to answer my question. I had thought long and hard about this and the Civic seems to be the best route, and I cant afford the insurance on the GSR heh its more then a Camaro Z28 with my record and progressive. But thanks any way man.

Yeah then get the hatch. It will still be a fun car, and insurance will be the same as for a DX. I've gone through two 12-point suspensions so I hear ya on that one. I pay about $250 a month for a "2000 Civic DX hatchback" :(

i have both except the hatch is a 92 dx. I would choose the gsr if i had to buy just one. but then again i only paid 900 for the hatch to the original owner last nov :evillol:
