I could get a vtec head from a kid at school for $10-$20 and I was wondering what I would have to do to get it to work on my 1997 honda civic LX 4dr? Would it even work? Is there a "black box" vtec controller or chip? and would I have to get new studs? Would I have to have a machine shop do work on it? From what I under stand, my engine has the same block as a vtec, just a different head. and I'm kind of on a budjet, so is there a way I could keep it under $200?

I know that I should do my own research, but I only have a little time to get the head. Thanks for any help, and I will start researching now to see if I can come up with some of the answers.

I posted this in the JDM/ parts forum, but im not sure how lively it is over there, so here it is.

Search for a "mini-me" swap thread, you'll find all your answers there.
