I just put some 17's on my 98 Accord. The tires are P215/50R17's. They work well and keep the speedometer true.

Here is a pic with the new wheels:

As far as lowering it ... I am gonna do that too. I am looking into springs only. The ones I am looking at will drop the car 1 3/4" in the front and 1 1/2" in the rear.

Here is a picture of the springs I am speaking of:

The correct size should be 215/45/17 or 225/40/17 It's ok to go with 215/50/17 you'll just have a little more meat on your tires. But if you go with that size, you will have to drop your car around 2 inches cause your car will be pretty high. Look at the pic in my sig. I dropped my car 1 1/2 in in teh front and 1 1/2 in the rear

Good luck

I overlooked the fact that the car was a 4 cyl ... my bad. I went to TireRack to find the information out for you. I went back again today and here are the results. The correct size should have been 205/50R17. As you can see by the enclosed pictures ... I ran the check for a coupe and sedan since you did not mention which you had. Both call for the same size though.
