98 accord 17's what tire size should i usecgr351 04-06-2004, 08:31 PM I have 98 accord ex 4 cyl I have 17 rims to put on but what tire size should i use and i also want to lower a bit to close wheel gap but not too much. Are coilovers a good thing and how bad will it affect alignment,Any recomendations would be helpful mwkirchner 04-06-2004, 09:22 PM I just put some 17's on my 98 Accord. The tires are P215/50R17's. They work well and keep the speedometer true. Here is a pic with the new wheels: http://www.geocities.com/mwkirchner2000/car/1998_Accord/car1a.jpg As far as lowering it ... I am gonna do that too. I am looking into springs only. The ones I am looking at will drop the car 1 3/4" in the front and 1 1/2" in the rear. Here is a picture of the springs I am speaking of: http://jdmmotorworks.com/rims/MaxSpeedSprings1.jpg cgr351 04-06-2004, 09:47 PM Thanks what color is that mine is black currant. mwkirchner 04-06-2004, 10:00 PM NH-592P Flamenco Black blacknight 04-07-2004, 02:13 PM The correct size should be 215/45/17 or 225/40/17 It's ok to go with 215/50/17 you'll just have a little more meat on your tires. But if you go with that size, you will have to drop your car around 2 inches cause your car will be pretty high. Look at the pic in my sig. I dropped my car 1 1/2 in in teh front and 1 1/2 in the rear Good luck mwkirchner 04-07-2004, 06:06 PM I overlooked the fact that the car was a 4 cyl ... my bad. I went to TireRack to find the information out for you. I went back again today and here are the results. The correct size should have been 205/50R17. As you can see by the enclosed pictures ... I ran the check for a coupe and sedan since you did not mention which you had. Both call for the same size though. http://www.geocities.com/mwkirchner2000/hondaforum/tires1.jpg http://www.geocities.com/mwkirchner2000/hondaforum/tires2.jpg cgr351 04-07-2004, 07:52 PM blacknight thanks for the info.Your car looks nice but how did you lower it and did you have any trouble with the line up? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
