2001 LeSabre not auto-shifting in the a.m.

My LeSabre (<15K miles) has problems shifting into second gear in the morning. For the first 5-10 minutes of driving after having sat overnight, the engine revs when it should be shifting into a higher gear. This makes it very difficult to go uphill and/or go through a four-way stop in a timely manner. After 5-10 mins., it shifts into gear with a noticeable and jarring THUMP and is fine for the rest of the day.

I've got a few months left on warranty and have taken it to two different dealers four times in the past six months. Each time they claim that they can't find anything wrong with it. I've left the car with them overnight and they claim that in the morning it isn't doing to them what it does to me EVERY DAY.

I'm going down to ride with them tomorrow morning, but if anyone has any suggestions or ideas as to what it could be (solenoid?) I'd appreciate the help.
