I have a 93 honda civic dx hatch. I am swapping in a b18b motor. The shop I am getting it from has a 94 integra for 1000.00, they also have a 99 motor for 1000.00. With the 94 he has the stock ecu, and for the 99 he does not have the stock ecu but the spoon ecu, he says the spoon ecu for the 99 is gonna be 300.00 extra, and the wiring for the 99 is not gonna be plug in play but is gonna take some rewiring. I know the price for either motor is good but what one sounds better to all of you smart people her at automotive forums. Is 300 for a spoon ecu worth it and is it any different than a stock ecu. Also do they even make spoon ecu's for the non vtec motors? I am having a shop put it in for me for 350.00 so the wiring is not a big deal unless it will create problems down the road.
