Control Arm in '99!!!yotatechie04 04-06-2004, 12:04 PM Get this, I was driving down the road in our '99 Camry a couple of days after having the suspension "professionally" tightened and lubricated, and all of the sudden, I hear a bolt fall down on the ground, and under the back tire. I drove back, looking for the bolt, and couldn't find it. So I drove home looking underneath the car after hearing some severe thumping every time I would apply the brake and accelerate. Well, come to find out that the main mount bolt that attaches the control arm to the subframe had fallen out, so I had to take the wheel off and call a friend to help me go back out and look for the bolt, which we had found on the side of the road after it had been run over a good few times by traffic, took it back home, and attempted to repair the threads on the bolt to mount the control arm back. I finally got the bolt fixed and the control arm mounted back up, tighter than what it was before, and now the car's working fine. But this goes to show that you should always check over the work that's done by someone else, especially when it comes to anything around your wheels. Thank god that the control arm stayed in position, or else someone could have seriously been hurt. This is the LAST time that I will EVER let anyone else do my suspension work. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
