Ok, so I am installing an RB25DET for a guy who bought his clips from www.jrautoparts.com and what a crappy clip. He paid $3500(inc shipping) and got a clip that had the VIN numbers on the firewall burnt off(just holes where the numbers should be) no BOV, no intercooler, no radiator, cut radiator hoses, no MAF, possibly a blown turbo(puked oil when I pulled the intake pipe off) NO ENGINE CROSSMEMBER!!! Thats right, the oilpan is flat on the pallet, dented to hell!!! He was promised all the front suspension & brakes, they arent there... The ignition cyl was ripped out...I think this clip was stolen in Japan....

I will post some pics up here later, but beware...they dont want to do ANYTHING for him except send him the rotors and calipers stating that "it is a used motor, what do you want?" and that I should "stop crying like a little bitch about all the little nick-nack stuff." If you want to get a horrible clip and no service after the sale, buy from www.jrautoparts.com today!!!

Thanks for allowing me to waste your time with my rambling.

omg, they told you to stop crying like a little bitch about all that nick-nack stuff? wow, what the hell kinda service is that? that is definitely stuff you should be expecting. i looked at those engines on their website...those belong in a junkyard. and their picture of a "front clip" that's just a photo of a whole silvia with the back end edited out using photoshop? just wow.
hehe, do it the american way...don't complain, just sue!

removed serials are usually also due to not wanting the buyer to know the real 'age'.

Sounds like a total crime to me. Hopefully it was just a one off problem between JRautoparts and the source.

This is another reason to deal with only the bigger names. Most have been overseas and have met in person with the people that will be sourcing the engines. If you just do it over the phone/email and try to get in contact with salvage companies you are looking to get screwed. You can't sure a Japanese company for sending you even a pallet of bricks. What happens is the smaller shops can't afford to 'eat the problem' so they pass it to the buyer.

WoW... If I were you I'd track these bastards, sons-of-whores down and bludgeon them with a shop hammer! It always sucks to hear about someone getting ripped off and people making a profit off of it! Sue the shit out of those donkey-cock-suckers!

Well there was SOME good news last night, I get the trans apart from the motor and found a Nismo 3 puck, sprung hub, clutch inside...in perfect, almost new condition.

I posted pics on another "240sxforums" if anyone is interedted, the thread is the same name as this one.

Thanks for all the support, I just hope this thing fires up with the new turbo in place...

Thanks!

Jon
