just a question out of curiousity, whats the max boost and hp for the sr20det? like many websites say that 12-14 on stock internals... what if i got aftermarket forged internals and engine treated like polished and full prep work for the engine? and resleeving and reinforcements for the engine? how much horsepower can i make before the the power to wheels is in-efficient? and what has anyone heard about any super sr20's? just a curious question thats all... and another question... are their other options to the 240 trannies? or will only stock work with the high HP ratings? thanks

The SR has been been seen to take 450 HP on stock internals. Although I wouldn't recommend doing that, it has been done. If you get an S13 sr then then highest I would boost on the stock turbo is around 16 psi or so. That's when the efficiency starts to fall off with the sr's air flow. HKS makes a sequential dog box for the SR, but be prepared to shell out about 10 grand for it...

On a side note for the KA, OS Giken now makes a gear set for the KA tranny. Anybody heard anything else about this?

Dude the engine is 10 years old! seals are definitely a problem, turbine is not good after 14 psi (7 stock, 10 max with stock intercooler)
injectors are to small....etc.

the REAL ans is 260 (stock internal, actuator, piping injectors $500 total)

320 reliable hp with upgraded turbo bigger intercooler.

i assume that the piping been don to the car (intake ,down pipe, and cat back )

piping is about 1 G, intake down pipe cat-back

actuater 100, inject 500 cc (used $400)

thats what i paid for them anyways!

I have a 92' KA-T with stock internals, 300whp with the right stuff. My buddies have sr20 doing 275whp with everything stock 10psi the most 14psi been there done that. We have 15 people in the car club some with sr's and KAT. We have several 305hp sr's 17psi, with bigger turbo, injectors 550cc,front mount, ecu done.

is there anyone else that thought honda shoulda made the lude a fr? imagine the competition against the s14....we might have even gotten the s15. the lude looks kinda nice for a honda.

but even if the lude was fr, it wouldnt compare to the s14.

I have a 98 prelude, im getting ready to sell it and get a 240 with an sr20det, ive owned a maxima and all types of cars 944 turbo, celica, but out of all of them i gotta say the lude has the best handling, response, and I love the NA power

porsche cars tend to have nice handling, a lil bit of power, and personally I would call the porsche a better car then the prelude. maybe thats why he thought that the 944 might be a lil better.

If the porsche was in the same condition as the prelude, the porsche would have been a million times better.

I think that the Prelude was Honda's affordable sports car. It's really really fun to drive when you extract some power out of it. Even though it's FF, it feels really sporty and the one I drove was alot faster than any 240 Iv'e ever driven. I actually want one as an alternate to my 240. I'd use Lude for fag racing and the 240 for gettin slideways. I wouldn't want to jeapordize a 944 in either of those types of driving, so I could honestly say that I'd take a Prelude over a 944 any day.
