crap. my z sprung a major oil leak. and i just reolized that i would have to lift the engine to replace the oil pan gasket. its an 87 na. it seams to be leaking out from there, and from either the crankshaft, or the smaller shaft just above the crank. does anyone know where i could find the replacement bearings. and, does anyone know how much it would cost to have a certified mechanic do the job, or would it be easier to buy the parts and do it with a buddy (mechanic in training).
p.s.- he has an engine hoist

It's always cheaper to do it yourself... but if you want to know how much it would cost you to have a grease-monkey do it for you, I'd suggest you look in your local phone-book and start calling! As for replacement bearings? Once again please consult the almighty YELLOW PAGES... thats about as much help you are gonna get 'round here, buddy...

Go to the local nissan dealership, the bearing isn't too much, my 85 turbo's rod bearing and main bearings are fried, early turbo Z's are famous for frying beaing about every 90,000 miles. But just go to the nissan dealership and get the OEM part and as for labor that would cost a good amount from a certified nissan mechanic so if you are going to do it your self I would check out the service manual or something and not those stupid haynes or chilton I mean the real one from nissan.
