Price of gas.... ARRRGH!!!!!BlueBomber 04-04-2004, 10:08 PM I was just wondering about the price of gas in other parts of the region. I am in N. Central Florida and I spend $30-35 dollars a week in gas for just local driving. For me, that's a lot cause I'm on a real tight budget. Here the "Cheap stuff" (87 octane) is about $1.78 a gallon. I know it must be more in other places, because: 1) Florida has a "price-gouging" law that prevents the cost of gas from rising too quickly, and 2) I'm in a relatively small area. Anyone else? What is it looking like in other areas? It seems like Big Oil is trying to eat the little people alive. jose cano 04-05-2004, 05:54 PM Here in atlanta its $1.60 a gallon as of 4/05/04 at 17:00, no telling whats its going to be an hour from now. Prices seem to change every hour over here. SniperX13 04-05-2004, 06:09 PM I just put 10 bucks in my tank, and got 5.9 gallons of 87 octane. 87 is 1.69 here, 89 is 1.79 and 90 is 1.89. I am in Topeka, KS.... I'm going to start getting Wal-Mart gas (eww) but ig you get one of their gas cards, there gas is usually 3-4 cents cheaper.... BlueBomber 04-05-2004, 10:32 PM Here its $1.78 for 87 $1.88 for 89 and $1.98 for 93. Some places it is actually $2.00 for 93. GTmike400 04-06-2004, 11:37 AM Yea, Im here in florida for Vacation and gas is $1.84 for 87. Back home in Georgia when I left it was a $1.57 or something close to that. RoraStar96 04-06-2004, 04:11 PM You folks are pretty lucky really, north of the border we pay $3.04 a gallon 3.8L = 1 US gallon A dry tank in my car (needs 90 at least) costs over $60 CDN. Even after the currency conversion its a ton of dough BlueBomber 04-06-2004, 09:26 PM Yea, Im here in florida for Vacation and gas is $1.84 for 87. Back home in Georgia when I left it was a $1.57 or something close to that.Where are you at in Florida? I'm in a fairly rural area (north of Brooksville) so those prices I gave are less, but yeah when I went to Gainesville a few weeks ago for the Gatornationals, I saw gas for over $2 a gallon. Even after the currency conversion its a ton of dough Holy shit! Where are you at in Florida? I'm in a fairly rural area (north of Brooksville) so those prices I gave are less, but yeah when I went to Gainesville a few weeks ago for the Gatornationals, I saw gas for over $2 a gallon. Tampa flaurora 04-14-2004, 04:01 AM I live close to Tallahassee and its about $1.80 a gallon here for 87 BlueBomber 05-10-2004, 10:17 PM Yeah it finally hit $1.80 a gallon here for 87 (as of May 10) and that's Wal-Mart gas (the cheapest place around). It would be nice if a new Race Trac would open with their $0.99 gas promo but unfortunately even that doesn't last long. I'm sure glad I live in a rural area and not anywhere big. My brothers went to Daytona last weekend and they said some places 87 gas was $1.99 a gallon. THAT'S LUDICROUS!!! For 87 octane almost $2 a gallon! It seems that there's something rotten in the state of Denmark. GTOmologato 05-11-2004, 11:48 AM the gas station near my house starts at $1.90 just for regular. Its ludacris! BlueBomber 05-13-2004, 10:45 PM Yep and its gone up again here since I last posted, my friend and I went to get gas at a gas station up the road from his house and he pumped for me so I went in to pay and he said to me you sure didn't get much gas and when I looked at the price it was $1.89 a gallon for 87. Geez, well I guess griping about the price isn't going to help any but I still think the numbers are NOT matching up. 73455transam 07-19-2004, 10:12 AM Here in Statesville, NC its about $1.83 per gallon for 87. In late May and early July, 90 hit about $2.10, and 87 hit about $1.95. I went to West Virginia with a friend in early June and if you got more than 20-25 miles off of the interstate, it cost about $2.15 a gallon for 87. C2Z06 07-13-2006, 12:36 PM I used to work 2 jobs. Because of the driving distance, I was spending more in gas than I was making at my second job. So I quit and get to spend more time with my wife and kid.
