Trans with the KLZElone_night_fox 04-04-2004, 05:52 PM With the KLZE do I need to get the Trans with it... Because I would like to keep the stock Trans... mainly because I love the short gear ratios. bmwm3guy 04-05-2004, 12:27 PM Yes, you can keep the tranny however first gear becomes nearly useless as it is almost impossible to "lock-up" the tires in first gear. The car has enough torque to take off in second no prob. lone_night_fox 04-05-2004, 08:32 PM what do ya mean lock up? not familiar with that term... babybluemx3 04-05-2004, 09:25 PM what he means is that you won't be able to 'grip' on the first gear..the only thing you'll do is burn rubbers :iceslolan lone_night_fox 04-05-2004, 09:32 PM well what's your 0-60 with the MX-6 Trans? babybluemx3 04-06-2004, 07:22 AM I've got the mx3 tranny...and I don't knw my time yet...didn't got a chanmce to put it on the track yet MXmadman 04-06-2004, 11:34 PM i thought they both had the same ratio's...except for the final? babybluemx3 04-07-2004, 08:18 AM you're right...we didn't say the opposite MXmadman 04-07-2004, 12:22 PM i know, but i mean, how would the mx-6 tranny differ in first gear then if they're the same? or am i missing something babybluemx3 04-07-2004, 01:13 PM like you said..It won't make a difference if you have a mx6 or a mx3 tranny on a 1/4 mile since you won't use 5th gear MXmadman 04-07-2004, 03:47 PM even on the 130hp stock mx-3 you burn through 1st pretty quick. so what's the best thing you can do to fight it w/the 200hp ze? babybluemx3 04-07-2004, 04:41 PM good tires and not high rev starts....drop the clutch at around 3k lone_night_fox 04-07-2004, 08:07 PM really with the Stock 130hp V6 I light the tires up when I dump the clutch at 3K, and burnout through 1st and 2nd... ofcourse this might be because of my Crapy Contental tires (no traction in the rain...) bmwm3guy 04-07-2004, 09:27 PM poor clutch lone_night_fox 04-07-2004, 09:41 PM it's the stock one MXmadman 04-08-2004, 01:56 AM before this new engine. i'd feather(quickly) from 2800-3000rpm. if i dump it i'd get a lot of sqeeling...anything higher then 3500 and the front end was hoppin all over the place. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
