Hello I have just started to build a widebody shelby Series 1.
It is a revell kit and I have already built it once... but it lookt terible so i started with it again. I do't make this thing by the purpose to looking great... I am making this projeckt to learn. I ame going to build a Toyota Supra later and I want some practising before i starts to cut in the supra body...

I ame supose to make new sideskirts a new front bumper and the boddy widining. :biggrin: And also make a bigger hood because the stock one is to thin and when you put the boddy on the frame the engine will lift the hood... :screwy:

The widening are made of a butter can.
I hope that i have the time to putt the putty on tomorow..
and remember i am a :newbie:

I am planing to use a elastic car putty called Plastic Padding Elastic... i have used it before and it will due i think... I have ordered a tamiya putty from japan... but I have not got it yet...

I finished one for my brother. I really like your idea. If it wasn't for my brother I definately would redo it to wide body (I did it right before finding AF online) Keep it up

A suggestion on your headlight situation. Was the kit supposed to come with headlights? If so, contact the manufacturer saying there were missing parts, the will either send you a new kit, or send you new headlights.

How much longer do we have to wait for more pictures??? I am tired of waiting.

That will also lift the wheel arches and they are sitting really nice with the wheels atm. You need to remove a bit from the bottom of the Body Kit IMO.

I do not know... i might.. cause the tires looks so cheep with oute them.

i have ben wondering about a tamiya red... but i have never seen a shelby series 1 in red.

Oh and by the way are those rims originally off of the Tamiya JACCS ACCORD, cause I have that model and I was thinking of using the same rims on mine. But what Rubbers (tires) do u have on them?

Oh and by the way I have seen a Red Series 1, and it looked pretty good, but I couldnt find the pics.

nope ther are not... they are from tamiya subaru impreza wrc witch model of it i dosent remember... the tires in front are the wrc rally tires and in rear they are from a calsonic skyline=)

okey if you can find those pictures i would like to s them :sunglasse

i have made a new hood. with a classic american style hood... some pictures are maby coming upp later. i have putted on some more tamiya epoxy putty and i ame sanding it down right now. the tamiya putty was better than the other one i had... must go now have an other lesson. cheers

I just wants to say that the first putty i used was werry easy to work with so it did not take long to get the shapes. And when i putted the tamiya epoxy putty on i realised that it was mutch harder to work with than the first one.

but it was beter in one way, you could shape it mutch easyer when you was putting it on. but it whas harder to sand down.

I must start sandin the smal scratches and so on down... but should i waint a week tills it have hardened?

Yes. Well im done hijacking this thread.

I have putted putty on the hood now and started to sand it down. But it’s a slow progress as usual. And I have started to re make the chassis to. But one question to any one that follows this… when I first built this one I made the brake dishes gold with red calibres. Should I let them be that way or should I paint them like stoptech brakes?

omg this thing is so cool. i justed tested some purple power on an beat shelby series 1 model to get the paint off. i love this car and im gonna be building one in the future. urs looks so good that it makes me wanna start a new model and do all these modifications to the body :) well keep us updated. cya

i have made some progress on it. i have made the exhaust and the new air intake, have also fixed the hood the ride hight new springs in front and some minor probbs with the body. I will take some pics of it in about a week... then i have got my new colors to!:D

it is going to be painted with a aluminium base coat and then a coupels of layers with mika red, and carbon hood and some other things.

soon the car is on the streets;)

Now i am done with the body work! atlast! and it turned out great... exept fore one thing... the exhaust exits are not at the same hight... but... i do not boder to fix it... i am sick of this model!!!

Eh. No biggie about the exhaust exits, I dremeled a new one for my R32 for duals, but they're not the same height nor width.

Now i just have to order a new model for the window and front lights... the rest of the work on it is done... exept from the carbon fiber on the hood.

You have to emagine the same color on the intake as on the body on the other pictures. and that because of when i did not use the flash the color came out as crap..
