My son's first completed model!!tonioseven 03-31-2004, 10:44 AM Hi everyone. I know we focus on plastic models here but I had to show off my 8 year old's first completed model!! It's a simple screw together diecast ML 320 but he did it all on his own. I'll let him decide if he wants to follow my plastic-ridden path! Also I'm showing a 1/64th scale GTO model I got last Christmas from my wife. Thanks. http://img22.photobucket.com/albums/v65/Tonioseven/shanti-benz-1.jpg http://img22.photobucket.com/albums/v65/Tonioseven/shanti-benz-2.jpg http://img22.photobucket.com/albums/v65/Tonioseven/shanti-benz-3.jpg http://img22.photobucket.com/albums/v65/Tonioseven/gto-1.jpg http://img22.photobucket.com/albums/v65/Tonioseven/gto-2.jpg kunta 03-31-2004, 10:57 AM Looks great!! you have a son! I didn't know that! :p CADguy 03-31-2004, 11:00 AM Cool! Tell him Nice Job!! :) It's great to see new young faces joining the club. And he's got a great mentor to learn from. My sons are 8 and 10 and have shown interest in building. I've started them on some simpler kits. They have graduated to completing my "in-progress" cars that I started, lost interest in,and put away years ago. They have begun to eyeball my Tamiya and tuner kits, so be prepared for the snap togethers not being "cool" enough in their eyes very quick like. :) mike united 03-31-2004, 11:03 AM Like father like son ! Very nice work young Tonioseven ! My sons 11 but he only builds Warhammer............. Later, Mike. :smokin: flyonthewall 03-31-2004, 11:04 AM Go Tonios son! nervestrikes 03-31-2004, 11:12 AM Now see, that is what's up. Building your son character and his analytical mind. At such a young age his imagination and mechanicly inclined hand skills could lead him to be anything like a car designer or aero space engineer, etc. Now you should make him read rich dad poor dad by Robert Kiyosaki. OK ok, I know I get carried away, I just love to see kids walk in positive foot steps thats all. Kevin deedlit 03-31-2004, 11:19 AM Nice model for a first one :bigthumb: You can be proud of your son. My daughter is only 4 month old but I think my wife will never let me teach her carmodeling :( joecwlaw 03-31-2004, 11:22 AM cool son! I remember I built my first kit, Mazda Familia when I was 8 yrs old, it looks like crap, but it is still runable on the floor with 2xAA batteries. kind of joke but you have to enlarge your basement, as your son is growing up and starting to collect on his own......still enough space??? Vric 03-31-2004, 11:25 AM 8 year old ??? damn it's a shame for a lot of us :D look really great maybe daddy could help him with windows trim and it would be perfect tonioseven 03-31-2004, 11:27 AM Gee, thanks guys! I'll show him this threa dwhen he's back from school! Now to get my 5 year old to settle down... Yeah right!! :p I may not have to worry about what to do with all of my unbuilt kits eventually!! SpoonMan Dos 03-31-2004, 11:51 AM Looks better than most of the stuff we saw this past weekend. :lol2: jgmodelcars 03-31-2004, 11:51 AM Awesome he did a great job!
