What's the most fun you can buy for $5000 or less (legally)?

I'm talking about cars here :)

Not necessarily the fastest, but something small and fun to get back and forth to work and around town in.

Here are some of my ideas:

Classic mini
1st gen miata
2nd gen 300zx
2nd gen mr2
Porsche 914
BMW 2002
Jeep wrangler

That's roughly the order I've thought about. Any comments/criticisms/additions that I haven't thought about? I'm tired of driving a truck all over the place.

second generation 300zx would be my choice. I think The 91 or 92 had valve problems though but it was recalled. I think, I read about it a few years ago. BMW 2002 is also cool, i like the way it looks, though I know nothing About it. Mr2 over Miata. By the way, what is wrong with a truck?

i would also say get a z32 (2nd gen 300zx). but im wonderin, how did you go from all those "older" cars to a 2002 bmw? but anyways, good choice bout getting a car instead of a truck.

BMW 2002 is the model, not the year. It is an older car.

Try a civic Ex or SI... you'll be surprised how much fun and reliable and cheap to own they are.
