ok sorry ive asked this before but it seems the more i look up on lifts for the xterra the more confused i get. I understand the rear lifts and everything that goes with them but im really confused now on the front end lifts. Im only wonting 2 to 3 inch or level lift (dont to much halling) but cant find the cheapest way to do it ( short on cash but dont wont to be so cheap and get a body lift) If i crank the T bars up 2 to 3 inches will that but on the bump stop or do i have to get the a arms which are really expensive. And if i get the new arms do i have to get all the other stuff (new T bars idler arm brace shocks ect.) any help would be great thanks very much

You can crank the front up a decent bit without needing the new UCAs. You certainly don't want to crank until you're sitting on the droop-stops, and it shouldn't be necessary anyway. I'd say crank 'em up with a little room left to go, and if you can get an alignment with it that way, you're good to go.
You do NOT need new torsion bars or shocks to get a front end lift, though the ride quality may not be ideal with the stock bars cranked up. I can't say if that's true, or if so, why. Matter of preference I imagine.
I'd get an idler arm brace regardless, cheap insurance.

You don't want to turn the front up more than an inch or inch and a half (depends on where your truck sits now though) or the UCA's will be too close to the upper bumpstop and your ride and handling will be affected. Basically, what happens is if the front of your truck comes up (say at the end of a dip in the highway, etc.) your front wheels will leave the ground instead of drooping and staying in contact. This maked the ride jumpy and skittish and if it happens in a corner it could be a really unhappy situation. So, if you raise the front without buying the proper UCA's, make sure you leave at least 1/2 inch or so of room to the upper bumpstop. Any less than that will equal a bad and potentially dangerous ride.

As OffroadX mentioned, you do not need to replace the torsion bars just to lift. If you end up adding a good amount of weight to the front later though, you'll want them.

So what would u all recomend for some kinda level 2 inch lift?? I dont wont to spend to much money but dont wont to get shackles because of the effects on your leaf springs. Aslo i know most of u have larger lifts than that but does anyone have pictures of X's with 1.5 to 2 in lifts and all terrain tires. would the way to go be a add a leaf and a shackle lift. thanks for the lelp and putting up with me haha

I don't understand the question. When you say "level lift" are you wanting to bring the front end up level with the rear because it's normally rear-high? If so, just crank it up conservatively to leave 1/2" of space between the UCA and the droop-stop (bumpstop) and if that's high enough for you, you're done as long as you can still get the alignment in spec afterwards.
Just do it. If you can't get it as high as you want without being able to align it and/or keep a reasonable gap above the droopstop, you're going to either have to back it down a bit and live with it, or invest in new UCAs.

If you want 2" all around, you can do the above, and either get shackles or AALs in the back to match, there really is no other option short of a custom spring pack.

The concensus in our Xterra club has been that the SLR 3-pak AAL performs best.

Keep in mind that if you add shackles or AAL's you'll need to also get the control arms in order to lift the front level. The AAL's add 1.5 - 2 inches of lift in back so you need 2.5 or 3 inches of lift up front to level and you can't do that without the new UCA's. Frankly I don't understand why people want their trucks level or even ass low, but that's your decision. The Xterra looks best nose down a bit and if you load anything it doesn't look like a dog dragging it's ass on the ground that way.
