94 escort wagon w/1.9 SET TIMINGromcallis 03-29-2004, 07:55 PM I just r and r'd the water pump on a 94 escort wagon w/ 1.9 motor...that meant removing the timing belt....i alligned the top pulley which i think is the camshaft with the timing mark on the head.....the bottom crank pulley moves at the same rate and lined up with the bottom mark but when i tried to start the car, i get a kind of high pitched cranked but no turnover....i loosed the timing belt cover and saw that the timing belt was moving, so i'm thinking the timing is way off......how do you adjust the timing on this? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
