ok i've got this weird ticking sound happening right now... the car doesn't do it all the time, but it seems to be getting worse... the sound is coming from right around the injectors/fuel rail area (i originally thought it was coming from the distributor but it's not) i'm hoping it's not doing any damage or anything.... anybody know of what this could be from and how to fix it?

also, there's some random metallic pinging noise when the car is at idle/low rpms.. i think it's the "custom" exhaust the previous owner put on it.. but i'm not too sure.. ????? :confused:

Man im sorry to say this but i had a noise coming from the same area on my old engine, and it would go away after running it awhile, but it kept getting worse after about 2 weeks. i took it in and found that my fourth piston was cracked. hope it's not that man. Good luck

OH DAMN! well, i dunno, it's been doing it since like.. december.. and i haven't noticed any losses in performance.. so i really hope it's not that... maybe i should do a compression check on it tho.. thx for the input

valves valves.. valves?? how much is it to replace em/fix em and where are they (i'm not very stock engine savvy.. i just know a whole lot about forced induction:p)

i found a head from a 95 special edition in a junk yard for $75 bucks. im cleaning it up right now and going to put it on in the next month. its actually not as hard as you think. but im not sure how much someone else would charge. probably alot. my only problem is trying to get a ring compressor for the valve springs.

when putting in ur new head make sure that you get the cam gapped perfect, also make sure that ur timing is right on the money, dont need any detonation
