Hello All:

I am looking at buying a used 1998 - 2000 Blazer or Yukon and use it to travel and tow a 3K pound boat thru out the Southwest (OK, MI, AR). Are there any tranny, engine, cooling sys, A/C or other issues I may watch out for while shopping ? Is the 350 cu.in still available or is the small V8 more dependable ? Is a GMC Yukon built heavier duty than the Blazer ? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated and you can reply to dianne21@cox.net.

I'll assume you are talking K-Blazers (full size). Mechanically, the Yukon and Tahoes/Blazers (I magine it was only Tahoes for that year though) are the same. If you are comparing S-10 Blazers, those only come with the 4.3 liter V-6. The 4.3 isn't a bad motor, but since you have a boat to tow, get a Yukon. The V-8 will give you the power you need to tow plenty, and as a bonus you get tons more interior room. I saw go for the Yukon. :smile:
