well i know that the 97 Z28 has possi, but not sure about the V6's. i would assume that V6 or not, they all use the same rear end. Borg and Warner right?

no not all V6 camaros had posi, they did have deeper gears, usually 3.08 or higher, but that dosnt mean they are posi. all Z28 camaros had posi rear ends. and the borg warner rears were the posi on third gen camaros. for fourth gen it was zextel-torsen and auburn.

Hell do what I did, weld a high nickle rod in there and have a home made locking rear end. :) well it works.

If you look up RPO codes for 4th Gen cars they only show G80 which is a posi rear, I have yet to see any other non posi Rpo codes

I checked with a couple of 4th Gen v6 people and I was wrong they do have a non posi rear end but I still don't know of any RPO code for it and For the original comment if you check out this site I'm sure you can find a used posi rear end real cheap www.car-part.com

If you want a posi rear, upgade gears, 342s are good. The stock 308s suck. Trust me, you need them.

if you want to upgrade go grab yourself a z28 rear-end off one of the 4 and a half gens...

yea i have a 97 v6 and it definately doesnt have posi...i cant stand how wen i light it up only one tire spins. wat would be my best option 342's or 373's...i heard with 373's the RMP's are pretty high on the highway...and wheres the best and cheapest place to buy a new rearend??

for the v-6 i would say go with the 3.42s if you are goin to be on the highway a lot. 3.73s are almost overkill on the sixers, thats why i think its great to just go get the entire rear-end. you can get the 3.42 gears and a posi all for like 500 bucks...

but you can find rpo codes at www.projectcamaro.com i think take a look around thereThanks but I have the rpo codes what I'm saying is if you have code gu2 you have 2.73's and if you take rear axle performance option you will have code Gu5 but no matter where you look you will not find a code for the V6 standard non posi rear and I just think thats weird the only code I have ever seen listed for F body's is G80 which is a posi rear

if your lookin for posi rear end prices... when i was asking around for on to put on my car i called like all the local junk yards and got prices from 250-400 but some didnt have tracking arms and stuff like that.
