spec-v gearboxes are definitely "clunky" but it shouldn't be hard to shift. the only trouble with my 03 that i have is shifting really fast from 1st to 2nd gear.. I have to be very precise or i'll misshift.

maybe a shortshifter should be your first mod. it will probably alleviate your gearbox problems.

btw, it's "header" not "headers" as we have an inline 4.

inline 4 is a type of motor that has 4 cylinders in a row.
most economy cars and sport compacts have this type of motor.
v8s have headers (two of them).

get the TWM shortshifter from www.ptuning.com and have a friend help you install it.

You should seriously consider heading over to howstuffworks.com and learning something about cars before you go throwing random mods on your car just because you can.

i got the short throw shift adapter
i put it on
but when i turned on the car it took a little longer to start is that normal( i made sure everything was on properly too) i didnt like the fact that it took a little longer so i took it back off but does anyone know if thats normal ?

the delayed start had nothing to do with the TWM.

there is a recall to fix the 02-03 "crank sensors". people have had problems with the car dying or not starting. get the recall done if the previous owner had not done so.

on an unrelated note: when you put on the shortshift adapter, don't bother taking off the intake. make sure and use loctite on the screws. and, make absolutely sure you have the "L bracket" on correctly.

ill check up on that about the starter
but i could of sworn that it took a little longer to start but after i took it back off it was working as normalill try again without taking the intake off
