Today I was trying to do on board diagnosis sytem to obtain obd-1
system code on my 95 villager (same as nissan quest) because
the "check engine" light was on. While I was trying to use a jumper
wire to connect the appropriate terminals, I accidentaly connected
the wrong terminals which caused a big spark. I then found out this
caused a fuse to blow. The fuse controls a/c, heater,PCM, ingnition
suystem, instrument cluster, vehicle speed sensor, warningchime.
But after replacing the fuse all the above were back to work except
that the van will not start.the engine tries to start but it doesn't.

Can anyone tell me what else did I short when I caused the short.Is
there a relay or other electronic that I need to check or replace,
please help,

How on Earth did you short that....Oh well...I am assuming you had done this on the Diagnostic plug, the one under the hood in the engine compartment. This is a great place to check for the MIL codes when the CEL comes on. I had a code of 55 I believe about a year ago. This equated to Fuel Injector problem. I took my trusty Ohm meter to the six fuel injectors and found 2 out of the six bad. I went to Murrays parts store since Trak is closed now and paid 1/4 the price a Dealer would have charged. (Dealer wants $250.00 ea Murrays were $70.00 ea :grinno: ) It took me 4 hours to change the one under the intake manifold though :naughty: ....Anyway your problem. :sly: ..There is a fuse panel inside the engine compartment; on the left side as well as the right side...Did you check all of them? and just don't pull out the fuse and look at it :lol2: check each one with an OHm meter to see if they indeed are good :eek: ...Another thing that can keep the Villager from starting, is the switch just above the park brake relase. Yeah, you can bearly see it and none knows its there, :sunglasse but its was added to shutoff the fuel pump in the event of a rear end collision. :lol: My bet is it may need to be reset :iceslolan ...give it a try and let us know what happens.. :loser: ..Dig, Over and out
