Oil Lines on a 94 S10 Blzr 4.3lwww451oa 03-20-2004, 05:02 PM For a while my oil lines have slowly leaked, I changed the top ones between the filter & cooler, but cant get to the bolt on the lines under the engine. How do i get the lines unbolted. VJL 03-21-2004, 10:41 PM You should be able to get to the bolt through the hose manifold with a flexsocket. But, you may want to drop the adapter anyway, wouldn't hurt to put a new o-ring and gasket there too. www451oa 03-22-2004, 12:39 AM I was finally able to get them unbolted after I took off the trans. support bar. Which had to come off in order to remove the lines. The op bolt was removed by going through a small hole in the frame behind the shock. As of night now, I have the new line in, but am waiting on getting to the dealership to get a gasket for the oil line adapter than bolts onto the block. The gasket didn't look too healthy, and from the ton's of fun that this project, I really don't plan on doing it again. PS. Even with the use of a lift in my garage, it's still a royal pain. I can't imagine trying to do it laying down. Thank you for the suggestion. I'll post again with my progress. www451oa 03-23-2004, 01:34 AM As of Mon night. I have the new $4.10 gasket that only the dealer carries. And have it almost all back together. The Upper Trans support bar bolt was less than fun. Had I had a little more time to work on it it'd be done. But I had to work late and that left little time to work on the Blazer. www451oa 03-24-2004, 11:48 PM The job is done. If anyone else is thinking of doing this job, I suggest you find someone where with a lift. It was tough enough with the lift, I don't want to imagine doing it witout a lift. Total cost for me was about $135 for lines & seals/gaskets. I'm not sure what you'd be charged. But the 4.3 is made with s little room underneath, that it explains the reason for the oil filter relocation kit. All, in all, the job was a pain, but I'm no longer have the slow oil leak. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
