A friend of mine with a Double Cab warned me about this and I'm starting to notice this problem start to happen. Is it a common problem for Double Cab Tacoma's to have Paint chipping near the bottom of the back door from rocks and salt hitting there????

I was told that the mud flaps were not long enough to stop things from hitting back there and the only way to fix or prevent it was with running boards..... Is this a common problem???

YEP. It sure is. I have a 03' Double Cab, and I have already had it touched up. I also just purchased a small bottle of matching paint so I can do it myself in the future. You can find paint that exactly matches the color of your truck at brandsport.com. Hope this helps.

PEP Boy's and Advantage Auto Parts also carry the small bottles of paint to match your truck

3M makes a clear plastic film that you can apply the same way you do with window tint. Works great at stopping gravel nicks. I also use it on the door sills of my dub cab to prevent the paint from getting scuffed.

you can also go to a rhino linings dealer and have the bottom sprayed. they can spray in any color to match your paint. the material they use is the best. i have it on my xtra cab and it rocks.
