If he's auto, you'll more likely start pulling away. Race and find out, and stay safe. racerzchick 03-19-2004, 10:28 AM ..eh maybe in the 2nd gear..depends on the driver too.. martinhutnik 03-19-2004, 03:19 PM ya both are automatic , but it'd be close since the buick is soo dam old but v6. do u guys know where i can learn like the basics of all of this racing lingo and where i can get some knowledge on car's spects and like wat they mean and all that?? ty for any help... TerminalVelocity 03-19-2004, 04:10 PM just hang in the fourms and look at all the posts, when you dont get something ask someone, like PM redneck383....he will tell you at the cost of your pride :icon16: kidding, he or about anyone here will help bty, if you powerbrake youll beat the accord *before launching, hold your foot on the brake, and the other foot on the gas, raise your rpm slightly, till just before you burn out sitting there and when the flager lowers his hands, let go of the brakes and go on the gas. Practice it a few times before the race* duffman667 03-19-2004, 04:15 PM yeah martin if you wanna know specs about cars go to www.consumerguide.com then click on automotive and it will tell you about any car back to 1990 horsepower and all... for 0-60 and 1/4 mile times go to http://www.hostultra.com/~ford/performance_stats.htm and look on that site for stuff it has all years martinhutnik 03-19-2004, 04:19 PM yeah martin if you wanna know specs about cars go to www.consumerguide.com then click on automotive and it will tell you about any car back to 1990 horsepower and all... for 0-60 and 1/4 mile times go to http://www.hostultra.com/~ford/performance_stats.htm and look on that site for stuff it has all years thx dude, ya i went to carsdirect.com and it gave me some spects of like up to the 1992 model. Pretty similar, the whole bits, 3.8L(231.0cu.in.) V-6 OHV SMPI 12 valve supercharger engine Electronic ignition V-6 Unleaded 4-speed electronic automatic transmission with overdrive Front-wheel drive duffman667 03-19-2004, 04:30 PM no problem man i have gotten to where i remember what most cars information is so before i race (if they are stock) i know what they are running and they have no clue about my car fugiot 03-19-2004, 07:30 PM No way, the Accord would whoop it. That 3800 Park Avenue only does a 17.1 at best. The accord on the other hand, although it is a 4-banger, will easily run a 16.2 and considering the age difference, the Accord has a major advantage. But if either of them are modded, then....I don't know duffman667 03-19-2004, 07:51 PM hey martin your car is supercharged you said cuz if so then you have about 205-240 hp where as the accord will have a measly 135-150... your car would win with no problem. i drive a stealth i whip the crap out of ne honda... unless they put about 30000 dollars into the engine LoW_KeY 03-19-2004, 11:23 PM if its 89 its not superchaged.. think he was using the stats from the 92 one, but your probably looking at 150-160 HP? not positive on that for sure. 1992-1993 205hp @ 4400 rpm 260tq @ 2800 rpm 1994-1995 225hp @ 5000 rpm 275tq @ 3200 rpm if the car was taken care of I think it'd be close.. I had an 85 winter beater buick electra, I beat the crap out of it and it wouldn't die :lol2: great running car and for how many miles it had 200,000+ odometer worked when it felt like it. It ran good for being tired, could spin out sometimes from a dead stop, but thats if it didn't gurgle and sputter on take offs. duffman667 03-20-2004, 10:12 AM thats true... yeah it would be around 160 hp then martinhutnik 03-21-2004, 02:28 PM ya prob, but it sounds like a beast when u rev it. fugiot 03-21-2004, 02:34 PM Cool car, I love that displacement. It's always nice to see a higher torque number than HP. Sorry, I'm positive that the Accord will win, but hey, race him and maybe you can prove me wrong. duffman667 03-21-2004, 03:41 PM it may win but you will put up a hell of a fight... it is always nice to see an underdog win. last night at some street races we met at this place there was probably 200 cars there so it looked was suspicious but this truck came up to me in my stealth and asked me to race... he taped it and everyone thought the s-10 would win but i smoked it so who knows you may pull off the upset. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
