Chevyracincamaro 03-18-2004, 12:16 AM well there's kindof two harnesses that you deal with, one that comes with the head unit(is just a bunch of wires that plug into the back of the player) and the factory wiring harness adapter(plugs into the factory harness). the adapter plugs into the factory harness to make installation easier. if there was an aftermarket unit in the car before you got it then you should already have the adapter harness hooked up in the car, cause the previous unit needed it. you should be able to cut the part that plugs into the factory harness off, match up the wires, and splice it into the new head unit's wiring... Hypsi87 03-18-2004, 04:37 PM That is what I have in my buick, it was a breeze to install. Anyone with half a brain can do it. There should not be a problem as long as you buy the correct harness. I did not use the harnesses, I got the good 'ol wiring digram out and hard wired mine in with sloder and shrink wrap. Im too cheap to buy the harnesses :icon16: If she is so worried about the install, have her pay for a professional to do it. Chevyracincamaro 03-18-2004, 09:43 PM too cheap cheap for the seven dollar wire harness, that's what i'm freaking talkin about!! see i think chicks need to work on cars, that way they all become as cheap as us guys and dont spend all our money... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
