I may have to replace a rear speaker on my 98 ZJ Limited. Anyone know if the speaker box/case is seperate or part of the overall inside door panel? I looks like I may have to remove the whole panel to get to the speaker? Anyone know the specs of these speakers? Think I could replace just the one?

You must remove the whole panel to access the speaker. I have a 180 watt infinity system in my 5.9 Ltd. and I tried speakers ranging from cheap ones from best buy to infinity reference, but nothing matched the bass from the factory ones. So, I got clever and glued the torn foam back together using a rubber epoxy called shoe-goo. They sound better than you'd expect and it was cheaper than buying a factory replacement for about $150. Let me know if you have luck with aftermarkets.

I put a set of pioneer's in my whole jeep all around.. I had the infinity's and hated them. Every single speaker blew, but the pioneers are a good investment and mine required drilling extra holes in the door panel to fit the speakers.. But, if you're looking more towards the bass side, I would suggest a Sub-Woofer to help free your original door speakers of bass.. I have 2 MTX Thunder 8000's 12in. subs and they helped a ton.. Boy do they put out bass.

Yeah the infinity speakers that come in the Jeeps are only half decent, upgrading your speakers and getting subs is definitely a good idea.
