I remember my first street race... NEC building here in Northern VA.. it's almost a perfect 1/4mile and my friend recently bought a RSX Type S and said I could drive it. I was 14 back then and never driven a manual. He gave me a quick 5 minute lesson and I lined up next to an automatic 6 banger mustang.... lost. Sad but true.

heh, for my first street race i lined up against a friend in a turbo Talon with exhaust. i was in my beater, the accord, so i got my ass handed to me. however, it was just about the coolest thing i've ever done, and it had my heart goin real hard and fast =). i suppose the more i race the faster i get used to going, so i wont' get that feeling as often. oh well, life goes on.

i think the first street race i witnessed was the most memorial. we were in my friends accord and he had intake headers and exh, no bodykit or anything just a street racer. back then i knew nothing of imports, well there were 4 of us in the car and he see's a supra this is when i was like 15 and i'm now 22, anyway he shoots past the supra(the 4th gen probably a 93) and keeps punching. the supra was at a dang near stand steel. As he's doing 80mph and still flooring it, the supra pulls up and honks his horn we roll down our windows(keep in mind were at full punch, still flooring it)and he flicks us off for about 1/8 mile(were still pucnhing it at like 100mph)he rolls up the window and takes off faster than anycar i've ever seen in my life!!! he shot off as if we were standing still and he did a awd launch. i mean he was out of our site in less than 15 sec.

about 5 miles up the road we see him pulled over by the cops

that is what made me like speed!

my first street race was in a 3.5 93 dodge intrepid. i pulled up next to some dude in a jetta with just exhaust i'm guessing....so i revved at him because you know...i was just wanted to see HIM get on it...so he revved back. light turned green and i floor it...and i beat him. yeah. i felt good for winning, but felt bad for him because he was slow. plus i had 2 other people in the car and he was alone. oh well. after i humiliated him he turned off about a mile down the road. if you can't beat a 93 dodge intrepid you probably shouldn't be out trying to race.

I think he means Northern Virginia... Much like how Southern California is SoCal.

Yeah i figured....but yeah....

My first street race was when my sis was letting me drive her 01 civic (d17 pr1d3 y0!) with i/e/h on business 70 through clayton (where all the coool johnston county racers go!) when of all cars, a mid 90's v8 mustang (if you live in NC, youll know what i mean) desides to provoke a little 50 roll. Since my sis's civic tops out at about 55, id say that i was allready in for a loss, but my sis was like "hah hah hit it!"....welll since i had been drivign a stick for oh say 3 days, i was mostly doing improv at the time. Upshifted(?) to 3rd....yeah....i got that little engine sqeakin in the high RPMs...well yeah...i probably could have passed a cop half way through 4ht gear and wouldnt have gotten pulled hah hah!

My first race was the first day i had my car. I had 4 people in my car 1 guy that weighs 220 lbs and 2 girls. Anyways, i was at a stop light and a caddie pulled up beside me. It was a black guy about my age and he went to my school. Well i threw up a rev and he was ready. So when the light turned we gunned it. We were dead untile 2 and i started pulling a little and i hit huge hill that was very curvy and i took the turn doing about 65 and the rear end of my car started slipping out and i fishtailed and luckily i regained control and didn't hit anybody. When i hit the next light the guy in the caddie was laughin and he just drove off. I felt really stupid but now i that i look back at that i took that turn too fast and then later i raced a guy in a civic si going down that same hill and he fishtailed and lost control and went off the road over a curb into the grass... I should have learned the first time but at least i learned the 2nd time...

A 1986 Ford Aerostar. A badly riced out CRX. A stoplight at the bottom of a 1km long hill, with a 4% grade. Torque ownz j00!

my first race...man i dont even really remember...

Probably the first real speed contest i had was against my friend and school chum. He has a stock 97 Saturn SL2 i think. We have the same engines (my 95 cavy 2.2L) and were riding on the same chassis. Well, his gear ratios are a little higher i think, so he gets off the line and accelerates quicker, so i dont usually beat him.

The first race we had, was on the way back to school, at a red light. VEry traditional street race, it was a good race, but i lost. And i think we only topped out at like 65 or 70, not too exciting...

my first race was in a 97 ford explorer the 5.0 V8 with AWD it was known around town as the "rally exploder" for a couple of close calls on the interstate while going snowboarding, anyways i lined up against a hatchback civic with an exhaust and i should of lost but the guy was having big problems shifting (i could hear him revving out on all his shifts) so i won.. goodtimes...

If it's a basic civic hatch with a D15, a 5.0 Explorer is probably faster anyways.

My first race was against KrNxRaCeR00. We were both sophomores in high school and driving on our way to our friends house.

He was in his '94 Honda Accod LX with i/e. I was in a '92 Mazda mx-3 (not the V6) with an air filter. We both knew we were slow, but friendly competition has always been a problem we've had.

The light turns green and I get a decent launch (I knew it was luck because I had ZERO experience). He bogs it and I take off running. I get prolly a little more than a car ahead of him in 1st but that was the end of it. We both throw it into 2nd and he pulls hard on me and leaves me in the dust. I would've hated to see what would have happened if he was nailed his launch. Either way, it was fun.
