baking soda vs vinegargmc 03-16-2004, 08:10 PM Which one of these would work better to clean the corrosion off of my batery cables? I'm sure there's better things out there, but since I have these items already, why not try em? WorkinOnACavi 03-16-2004, 09:45 PM I would use vinegar dont know why but it seems like a good guess C_Sephiroth 03-16-2004, 09:54 PM Backing Soda and HOT water, mix it together in a bowl, and poor it onto the bat. Then use a tooth brush and clean the corrosion. BlueBomber 03-16-2004, 10:12 PM Baking soda cleans everything..... C_Sephiroth 03-17-2004, 07:16 AM heh I typed Backing Soda. anyway Baking soda eats the corrosion and makes a chemical reation it is kinda cool turns everything a light light blue, untill you was it off. amac209 03-17-2004, 06:52 PM mix baking soda with some water. baking soda is a base so it neutralizes the acid in the corosion. vinegar is an acid so it won't react with the corrosion. urweak 03-17-2004, 07:22 PM yes backing soda is what you need to use, i did this about a month ago when i relocated my battery to the trunk, and had to clean up the connections on the wires. i just got some baking soda and hot water, threw the parts into the mixture and it foamed up instantly and removed all the corotion no problem. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
