You are absoultly right cracker. what are they thinking? It just doesnt make sense. 4 bangers talking about 4 bangers, what a joke! stock to stock weight to weight and class to class hondas and many others usually will lose to a neon with a good driver. The only way hondas are to beat neons are with swaps or turbo or nitrous. The fact is with a couple of bolt ons, on our single we could beat most duals on the hondas. Not talking stuff on hondas dont get me wrong I have respect for them just not people who arent realsitic. As for the v8s they could talk stuff "ONLY TO A CERTAIN EXTENT" cause 4 words weight to hp ratio!!!!! :nono:

I can vouch for drag1320neon spankin' an integra dohc. Plus integras are not all that great anyways. People always steal there motors and stick them into a hatch to be faster.

Not sayin that you can't find parts, just not as acessible to look for. Neons don't have mags like NEONTuning and stuff. so I had have to stick to the internet. And when I mean parts I mean engine components.

If you live in America, stick to American made cars! No way in hell a Honda Integra could beat my 1998 Neon with a stock DOHC 2 L. I even have 3 Polk MOMO's and 3 AudioBahn 8000t amps in the trunk.

You should get a Mustang then you would not have to worry about beating Hondas... You could do it in first gear... But really It's not the car it's the whole import vs domestic thing...

see i dont want a mustang. i got the four banger because i wanted to get something cheap, and reliable for miles at the same time. with my old neon i was stomping stangs anyway. 13.6 allmotor is fine for me, and thats with no interal work, and stock head, manifold and tb.

Hmmmmm neon v.s honda ....well i have a 95 sohc, and ive raced a few civics and beat them no problems, a bud of mine has a honda prelude its an 87 i think and all i know is its dual carb, we raced and he beat me off the line but i burnt him once i hit 2end, Since then i got my neon slighty moded and weve raced and i eat him up with no problem

its usually the import owners that hate neon and talk bad about them, i think its just cause they dont wanna admit that a american car is made alittle quicker then the import they own. im not saying the neon can beat any import in its class there are many that will beat it but then again look at the price difference :)

The main reasons why the neon is laughed at is 2 reasons. Ricers and its domestic chicks drive them, old people drive them. So when someone sees this and then sees you at the light and says why did you buy a girly car its slow. So if you race beat him if you dont race then shut up and drive on. Were never going to stop bashing there weak ass cars (without swaps) because we know we would hand it to them in the 1320. But racing stock vs stock on a highway is porving a little different. But dag we know neons have a lot of potential thats why we drive them. my .02

thats a retarded statement, they are in a video game so you respect them now, have you noticed that if you get every available part for it the engine blows on EVERY SINGLE drag race, me and my friends race identical cars all the time on the drags on that game in contests and when we tried the neons we did it like 25 times and both blew the engine every 25 times, only way is to not use all that power you have, what a joke. of course that doesnt mean in real life that will happen every race but it shows video game doesnt equal reality.

I dont hate neons, I think they look pretty good, my friend has an SXT and its pretty nice, not too slow but it aint a real quick car either. and they are inexpensive and I want an SRT-4 bad but dont give em more credit than they are due.

i drive an srt-4 i don't think its fair to include it in this disscusson simply because its a whole different level of power and speed i actually like regular neons too but srt-4's its concidered like a different car

My old friend had a 4 door neon and I raced it in my sunfire that had a auto with the smaller engine in it and I stomped him so Ill agree with you 4 doors are extremly slow but nothing compared to a 2 door.
