Well if any of you have read my previous posts about the airport racing, theres a new cat in town. This guy got scratched/bit in the face by someone's dog and has a huge scar on his face. Well with the settlement money what better way to spend it than to get a new car?? Since the two brothers around Chilli already have and Evo and an STi, he decided to get the SRT-4 and put a couple grand into it. Well first we lined up and I beat him off the line, and he didnt pull too hard on me in second gear.. but third and fourth gear, well..we had me by about 2.5-3 cars. So then he lined up with the Evo with full exhaust and he beat the evo by about 2 cars.. also playing catch-up on him in third and 4th..

that wasnt that difficult to follow. you must have one fast teg. dyno tune it when you get those cams in and tell us what numbers you are pulling. or post the dyno sheet.

ummm im sorry, but if you buy a SRT-4 and dump a couple grand into it, you will be smoking corvettes, one of my buddies has one and put about 2,100 into the engine, just a new turbo, intercooler and a few other little things like boost controller and he beats Z06's....sounds fishy to me

Just because the owner of the car didnt spend his money exactly how your buddy did doesn't mean my story is bullshit.
He spent however much on a Mopar BOV, around 1300 for a true Mopar coilover system and the rest is awaiting the arrival of a stage 3(http://www.mopar.com/srt_stage_3.htm) turbo upgrade.

zo6's are crazy fast, best domestic car to date.

the whole car length thing is totally misunderstood, you think if you race a car and he beats you by like 1 car your like right on his ass with similar times...

NOPE i raced a friend this weekend at the track he has a 91 formula on this particular run he ran a 14.1 *one of his slower times* and i ran a 15.1 *one of my slower times* and he only had me by about a car length on the street that would look great but at the track he still ran about a full second faster than me...alittle is alot in racing...

but since the 04 srt4 runs around the same times stock as a 350z, mods will make it easily faster than one

so over 2K with a new turbo can make one insanelly fast

I wasn't aware of this. I've seen the car in action so I know it's friggin fast. I knew he had a stage 2, and I was relaying what I heard from a friend of mine, so it could be he's planning to order it when it is for sale. Thanks for teh info.

that sounds right to me. I seen a stock srt hit 13.8 at sac race way, what does the zo6 hit any way low 13s to high 12s?

wait so you guys are saying that vipers and z06's are only running high 12's/ 13's? my mustang runs 12.6-12.9's!?!?!?!

then you've done a good bit of modification to it.

i have a sr20det with t3/t04e turbo pushing 398whp and srt-4 are fast because my cousin has one and i leave him by 2 cars and i raced a cr/vtec and i beat ass by a few cars he ran like a 12.8 it preety fast but srt-4 are tooo much when messed wit

z06's can run 11's with jsut diff tires...

depends on drivers

vipers and z06's could hit low 12's out of the box

Neons SRT-4s 2004s already eat 350z and s2000 stock. I just read it in car and driver, with the LSD that comes on the new models. They clocked it at 13.9 and 5.3 while the s2000 clocks 14.1 as well as the 350z (14.2)...

That is some really cool stuff for the SRT-4. I love that little "Turbo Toys" thing you can buy. Question though, do you have to buy the Stage 1 first before you buy the Stage 2, and so on?

nadda chance, theyre still for sale on dodge.com dude (well, not ON the site, but theyre still up there) theyd change the site as soon as it was recalled if it had been

Thats not fair those upgrades aren't that expensive and they give it a good amount more power. :( I'm getting jealous of this SRT-4....

Again I love that turbo toys thing, push a button for high octane mod and a water jet to cool off the intercooler more. Neat little gadgets....bah Chevy damn it wake up and do stuff like this!

I'm not jealous at all of the SRT-4. I don't care how fast it is, it's still front-wheel-drive, the worst platform. Give me a WRX any day :P

Well yeah, I'd take a WRX over an SRT-4 in an instant, but still, SRT-4's are pretty damn fast, FWD or not.

dodge under rated them. they are rated at 215 at the crank and iv seen dynos on neons.org where STOCK ones put down around 230 at the wheels.

gm did the same with their new saturn ion. its rated at 200 horse and it put down 197 at the wheels.
