I recently took my VW Passat in for an oil change (not VW dealership but 3rd party, Professional chain). They drained the Transmission Fluid and added oil to engine, on top of existing oil. Uncommon but can happen if a tech has not worked on VW's (synthetic fluid, looks like eng oil). So, I had no transmission fluid, 4qts too much eng oil. The car continued to run, but not very long.
News is... transmission is shot! $6400 thru dealership for new one and the place who handled the oil change is trying to deny any wrong doing. This message serves as a warning that VW dearships claim this as a continuous problem.
Also, if anyone has any experience w/this happening, please reply or send private mesg. I need all the advice I can get as I'm going through this right now.

Thanks!

There's got to be a way to be compensated for that, they fucked up. That's a rather large chunk of pennies

get another mechanic to look it over and agree with the issue for backup.
wow how is that posible? even if the fluids look the same.. the drain plugs are on two totally different parts of the car. didn't they see that the pan they were draining had axels coming out the side?

Not a very "professional chain" after all I guess.
You should always take a VW specialist, over chain stores they do tend to do a better job.
