I have an 03, double cab and am really interested in getting a lift and wheels. I think I want 33 12.5x15 tires and rims, but what kind of lift do I need?? I heard that body lifts are rocky and kinda crappy, but I don't have a clue. also whats the average cost for this project??

hey. I just lifted my 03' Tacoma Double Cab 2 days ago, and it looks awesome. I put a 3" Revtek suspension lift on it and Bilstein shocks on all four corners. I put new shocks on there because our truck comes with Tokiko shocks that are pretty much crap. I also put on 33" BFG mud terrains on 16x8 alloy wheels. The truck just looks sick. Parts and installation cost me $2800 at Les Schwab. It rides better now I think, and the tires aren't loud at all. There is a little rubbing on the wheel well when I turn really sharp, like into a parking spot, but it's nothing that can't be taken care of. I'll just have the wheel well trimmed up a bit. Hope this helps you out.

you are going to have to go with at least a 3" suspension lift in order to fit the 33x12.5's, and even then you are going to have to do some trimmng. I have a 99 taco, xtra cab, and i just put the daystar 2.5 kit on it, and have 32x11.5 bfg mud terrains on stock wheels, and it looks great, i also put some bilstien 5100's on all 4 wheels. i looks great and it wasn't too expensive, only 900 for the lift shocks and install. the tires were 500 total, so i got off at just under 1400 for the whole thing. and man those 5100's sure do make for a better ride.
