Bad News for my T-caseJeEpBoY95 03-14-2004, 06:31 PM over the weekend i was cruising in my 95 cherokee and it trew the rear U-joint. When the U-joint broke, my dirveshaft came free and shattered the yolk housing at the rear of my T-case. in my previous vehicle ( a 93 Grande Cherokee with a 4.0) the yolk pulled right out which would make replacing this part very easy but on this jeep the yolk wont slide out. How do you free the yolk and is there a way to do it without tearing my T-case apart? By the way the T-case is a 242. MagicRat 03-14-2004, 11:54 PM Take the front U joint off the yolk. You will find a great big nut holding the yolk on the output shaft. JeEpBoY95 03-18-2004, 11:21 PM thanks for the info but its a slip yolk that requires taking part of the transfer case housing off. JeEpBoY95 03-18-2004, 11:25 PM well i've had to replace the rear yolk, driveshaft, front yolk, transfer case housing, transfer case chain, and a motor mount, lots O' fun it seems fine now but i've been told that this is a pretty common thing....i hope it never happens to me again vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
